Passport Escort G-timer performance computer Dyno GT-1

http://www.escortradar.com/pdf/gt1manual.pdf

The GT-2 you could download the data but non to be found and the GT-1 was only $50 shipped new on e bay.

A few more GT-1s on there for a bit more, then the G-tech line goes to $200+

Got it and did my first run with it but with the wagon, the Bird is giving me crap right now.

Didn't set up anything like roll out, GVWR, pitch, roll......

Also didn't do any shifting, just held it to the floor.
[SBB 350
MSD 6AL
T/A Stage1 aluminum intake
Pro built carb by National
PAE Built TH350 3.08 1st, 5 clutch, 2200 stall ]

Ran a 18.02sec 1/4mi at 73.9MPH with a little spin on 1-2 shift.
[said I had 42HP with default GVWR of 2000lbs, its GVWR is 5772lbs ]

2.50 60ft

15.0 sec 1000ft [which is the new 1/4 distance for NHRA]

0-50 7.80
0-60 11.05

Was gonna try a 2nd run after setting GVWR but while finding a clear empty road johnny law tried to sneak up on me but if the city spent more loot on better radar I wouldn't of pick him up even before I could see em on a cheap 1980s xk/ka dector

In any case if you can buy one cheap, id do it.

I know it isn't scaleable always [ twice as lite, twice as fast ] but why keep tip toein around putting that engine into the Bird.

Those times aren't bad for a SB350 when you consider it weighs twice as much or more then the typical V8 3rd gen.

Car and Driver review here:

http://www.caranddriver.com/features..._work_-feature

I bought two new GT-2s off eBay one for $50 and the other $70.

Fun little meters. You need a 12V power supply to download runs to a desktop PC though.

I've got a Beltronics Vector FX1, the FX2 is the better unit because it can download to the pc and store 10 runs. It seems extremely similar to the Passport GT-2 with its features, calibration ability, etc. There is one on ebay for sale now if anyone is interested. The few times I've used it, it seemed pretty accurate.

neatest toy you always wanted, now I see why everyone who had one, said they didn't use it much.

They need one that is more intuitive as in it monitors your driving at all times, and figures out stats on the go and can come up with a good average.

Having to stop and set the thing for every run, has kept it in the glove box.

Re: Passport Escort G-timer performance computer Dyno GT-1

Dunno why there isn't an android app for this, monitor your driving at all times, and take said data to get good average on HP, Torque, 60ft, 100ft, 1/4........ all that with out having to find a empty road, set the thing up...............
