Opinions wanted on TPIS lil Chubs camshaft.

Been looking high and low with not much info out there on this camshaft. Is anyone on the board running it? Any reviews? Idle clips?

https://tpis.com/products/lil-chubs-...7804211362This cam makes a big lump of torque in the middle of the power band and still revs nicely to 6,000-6,500 RPM. Excellent for TPI and LT Street engines!

283/287 Adv. Duration 220/224 Duration @ .050 .500/.500 Lift 110 LSA
In my humble opinion, this would be a very nice camshaft for a modified TPI car that has good heads, good runners and ported base manifold. The tighter lobe centers may also help pull the charge through the intake manifold if you have a nice exhaust. Jim Hall used it on a AFR Vortec headed 355 and it pulled to 5900rpm.

Seems like it doesn't have the lift numbers I would expect for 6,000 to 6,500 rpm. Either way that would very likely be beyond even a ported factory TPI capability before it ran out of air.

My Comp XFI 280/288 Adv. Duration Cam (230/236 @ .050) has .576/.570 lift with a 113 LSA. The advertised rpm range is 2,000 to 6,000.

https://www.compcams.com/xfi-230-236...all-block.html

Seat of the pants it feels like it pulls like a freight train up to 5500 rpm in my setup. Haven't pushed it past that just yet as it is a newer build so I am still tuning and feeling it out. No dyno numbers either so take my SOTP for what it is worth.

Yeah, reading your mod list I would def. guess your car runs like a champ. Im after a very fun car myself. The kind of fun where you can roll into it and break the tires loose, let it upshift and roll into it and break the tires loose again.

I already have a LPE 219 cam but I am wondering if the extra exhaust duration would let the power carry a little further.

I too bought the "lil chubs" but am unsure what pushrods or lifters I will need. Currently she has edlebrock aluminum heads and 1.6 roller rockers. Any help is appreciated on what I need to stab this cam into place. Thanks yall!

On a roller block and stock roller lifters start with 7.200 push rods and check the sweep.

I assume the tpis roller lifters will work considering. But the pushrods are a huge concern. OG tpi rock on... Hopefully!

Thank you family!
