I'd say increase the value right now, not too many thirdgens charge a premium right now, maybe LE1s and TTAs, but who knows 10 or 20 yrs from now maybe the less rare ones will be worth something, I never think twice about modding my GTA b/c of resale value, pretty much you're never going to get back what you put into it if you do extensive mods. I KNOW no one would pay $8000 for a modded '89 305 5 speed GTA with 100,000+ miles on it.
Put the 383 in there, the more fast 3rd gens the better.

thats how my friend thinks. becuz his parents put new tires on his trans am he thinks the value of his car went up that 500 bucks. becuz he tried sellin it for 1700 when he bought it for 1100 or 1200. and now after the crappyass tranny rebuilt that he got raped on for 1100 or 1200 he thinks his car is now worth like 2grand. and yet the stock egine is still in there and has about 190,000 miles on it. and the body forget it. interior is okay needs a really good cleaning and new seats excupt the back seats.
and yet he thinks he will get about the same amount back as his parents put into it. and right now the car aint even worth 1000 maybe 800-900 at most. my car on the other hand. thats a different story.
anytime you tear into a car an modify it you will loose, especially engine build ups. unless a friend or someone who knows the car purchases it you won't get any where close to what you put into it. especially a b4c, they are considered collectible to some; but those that feel this way want low mileage all original vehicles. but who knows you might get lucky.........just don't build a car looking to make money.
side note though good luck with the build up, a 383 when done right can make alot of power....but you shouldn't consider it increasing the value of your car to anyone but yourself. a car's only worth what one will pay for it. on that basis modified 3rdgens and mustangs would all be going for $15,000 or more. it just doesn't happen. on that basis i could run around claiming i have a 3rdgen the value of a new cobra R or viper........just plain silly.

some guy offered us $800 for our 20th Anniv TTA... post spending about $10k on: new interior (pretty much everything that could become leather is now leather), GlobalWest shocks, Spohn torque arm, GlobalWest springs, and a sweet engine (451 ft/lbs, 315 rwhp on a small TE49 non-ball bearing turbo @ 17 psi... 16.5 was stock, on ours at least). We thought he was joking... anyways, yea, f-bodys = depreciators... might as well mod 'em to hell b/c you ain't getting much back.
