Summit or Jegs?

I am going to order the dead soft gaskets for my collectors, but from where? SUmmit or Jegs? The price is the same, so the deciding criteria would be how long it takes to process and ship, as well as lack of errors in the order. Advice?

I have had better experience with Summit. I have ordered a cold air kit for my old 96 Z28, from Jegs I have ordered a cat. Summit was faster and the person that I delt with was alot cooler.

usually I go to summit. The only time I had a real problem with them where shouting was involved was a year ago.

I ordered a 8-71 supercharger setup from them made by Weiand. Something I had been waiting for since I first went to carshows and races when I was a kid. Finally I am building a engine I had always wanted to do.

Well, I decided to see where the package is by tracking it at the summit website. I look and it says DELIVERED. I was like ok but I don't have it. I called them and they said yes it was delevered and signed for.

They had a old adress for me on their computer and when they had trouble with my new adress they sent it to the old adress that I had not lived at for 5 years.

Good thing is that it was my mothers adress. It could have been anyones old adress and not everyone has a freind or family member at their old adresses. I could just be some dude signing for a 8-71 blower thinking it is christmas or something.

The only bad thing that came of it was it was 130 pounds and had to be shipped to me from my parents for another $100.

I was pissed with them for a while but have started to use them again and that was the only time I have been upset with them in 6 years.

Appreciate the info, I went ahead and ordered them from Summit. The exhaust leak is getting a bit much, eyes stinging, the scent of "eu de carbon monoxide" clinging to my clothes.... Fortunatly, I think it is only leaking from the collectors. The header bolts have not needed tightening in awhile, and it looks like the flanges on the headers and collectors don't quite fit flush, so.....

I have had great luck with Summit and Jegs in the past. I usually order from Jegs first cause after I made my first order with them a few years back, they would send me a catalog about every 6-8 weeks but Summit would almost never send me a catalog after I ordered from them for the first time. I guess it took a couple more orders for them to send me a catalog on a regular basis.

Anyway, I have a funny story about Jegs actually. One day I had one of my Jeg's catalogs laying around at work and one of the older guys that I work with (he was from Columbus) saw it and says, "Hey Tom, is that your Jeg's catalog that I saw?" I said "yeah it is." Then he says "I went to high school with that guy, and when we graduated, his dad had 10k waiting for him and said that he could either send him to college or he could just take the 10k and do what he wanted with it" Then he told me that he took the 10K and set up a speed shop and now it has grown to what it is today. I thought it was kinda interesting, and I don't think this guy was BSing me so I took it as being true.

in a belated answer both big reputable companies.. no problems with either. Remember, Murphys law exists for every company, even ones that don't sell products (like the phone or cable for ex.) so cross your fingers and you'll be ok more often than not.. I don't know precisely where they ship from but look at where they are located if one is closer to you go with that one for faster shipping.

My best shipping Murphy's law story, FEDEX ground trying to deliver my Corbeau seats to the building next to mine, three times, and the guy tried to sign for them
