Anybody have any feedback on this site? My brother was thinkin about getting some ignition equipment from them. Is it better to just go for MSD or summit ignition combos?

I havent used any of there electronics, but I have one of there distributors and it looks really nice, even if I have to replace the module before I use it (like everyone tells me) I will still have far less money in it vs anything else. A lot of there electronics are coming from the same suppliers as Accel.
I do sell lots of there heads tho. They are super nice for the money, you cant go wrong. No problems anymore with quality either. Dont know about the quality control with there electronics. I would by a MSD box before I bought one of there ignition boxes tho.

there stuff looks high quality but it far from it, most of there ignition stuff is just MSD knockoffs, what we manage to sell usually comes back defective, the heads look good for the price but there QC is ****, from what of heard the casting process is poor along with there materials, if your going to buy them do not buy them assembled, buy them bare and buy your own components so you know what your getting. personally id rather spend 1100$ and buy a set of assembled brodix IK 200's and know i have got decent pieces. i use to stand up for PCE but ive now realised there ****.

 

I baught a set of there heads but they arnt the complete ones. the heads have all manly valves spings and stuff and a knowen machine shop did the machining. every thing blolted up good to them but I have not ran it yet?

 

I sell 100 sets or more of the SBC heads and alot of the BBC and SBF ones every month. When they first came out a few years back there was alot of quality control issues, especially on the fords. They are practically non existent now. Everyone else buys there castings from china and machines them here and all of a sudden there USA made. But your right there best to assemble yourself. Ive got some pics of mine if anyone cares to drop me a pm Ill email them to you. Out of the box as cast finish these things look better than any non CNCed RHS, Dart, or World head I have on the shelf. For roughly $700 a set after your done they cant be beat. But I agree the rest of there electronics probably are junk. They do have some nice looking valve covers and stuff but I havent sold any. 1986Z28 have you ever sold any? How are they quality wise? They look to be the same stuff thats all over the autofairs and ebay for alot less money.

if your talking about the brodix, im running them on my motor, quality is superb, and unlike what other manu do they are cast in the US, for the price your buying basically a ripped off edelbrock head which didnt flow very well to start, my brodix are as cast and i have no intentions of cleaning them up. i wouldnt trust PCE to put any components in those heads. they may say there something but chances are they arnt, and as far as i know they also machined in china too arnt they. im not arguing im just saying when it come to something like cylinder heads you get what you pay for. BTW this is my motor with the brodix heads

Those brodix are really nice if you got the money. The procomps actually are machined in australia. The bare heads are really nice, the assembled ones look ok but like you say theres no telling what kinda valves and stuff are in them, I dont think Ive even sold any assembled ones only way I saw one is that we got one boxed wrong. As far as the bare castings, if your on a budget there really nice. 195cc runner 2.02 1.60 valves 64cc chamber. I have some flow #s for them in a email @ work if anyone is interested. They flow like 250 something @ 500 and 261 or so @ 600 and around 190 on the exhaust un touched. Theres also lots of room for porting. In the end you do get what you pay for and they might not be good for 800hp or 20lbs of boost, but I know guys building NA 450-500hp flat tappet motors all day with these procomps and for the money you really cant go wrong.

i think you have PCE and pro topline heads mixed up pro topline is now RHS and they are from australia, from what i know PCE is just a china head

 

No, I sell both. Protopline was made in New Zealand, by a totally different person, now since Comp owns them they were having problems locating a new foundry, they are no longer coming from New Zealand. I believe they must have found one because they are starting to replenish our stock now. They are machined in Tennesee tho.

Procomp is owned by an Australian, he is getting the bare unfinished castings from china and doing the final machine work in Australia before shipping them to cali. All of there CNCed heads are being done in Cali too.
No different that dart or anyone else that does the same thing.

The ignition stuff is junk.
I had their distributor and it was a piece of ****.
The module lasted less then a month, the terminals on the cap would pull out with the plug wires and worst of all; it leaked oil UP the shaft and lined the inside of my cap with oil!

I am running a Procomp non computer controlled HEI dizzy from eBay and am still curious as to their reputation.


I am mainly concerned with their dizzy gear. They claim it is 4340 and good with ANY cam. Can anyone verify or nullify this?

If I have to replace the module soon I'm all for that...the damn thing was only like $60 (I know you get what you pay for). I already need to do some work on the advance, probably the vac advance (which is not uncommon with any dizzy) so I am not too concerned.
