wtf hooker headers?

hooker headers is advertizing lsx swap headers on thirdgen but they do not think our vehicles worthy enough to build a set for our cars. i will never buy a holley , hooker product again, this really pisses me off!

Re: wtf hooker headers?

Is it really THAT important to have hooker headers? Are they in some way superior to all other brands of headers? As long as the craftsmanship is good the brand name is just a brand name.

Re: wtf hooker headers?

So hooker doesn't make LSX swap headers for our cars yet. Neither does edelbrock, pacesetter, dougs, or ANYONE except hawks. So your only going to buy products from hawks then, eh?

Chill dude, just because they don't make them now does not mean that they won't in the future.

They still make products for our cars, just not lsx swap headers. Their just isn't a big enough market right now to start production.

Re: wtf hooker headers?

So wait, your not going to buy anymore Holley/Hooker parts just because these aren't available yet? Wow, I thought I had a short temper. This is like getting mad that baseball tickets are for sale, but you can't go to any games yet.

They are advertising so people reserve themselves to waiting for the Hooker headers. If they didn't advertise it would seem as if they don't care to make any, thus people would just move onto a company that does. Whereas with this route they can kind of "reserve" people for sales.

So to me it sounds like they are in process of making them. Be patient please. That or give them a call and see whats up about getting these made.

Heck, I'm still waiting to buy SFC's (not only because I need my floorpans done) but because Spohn told me 1 year ago they are making an inner rail set to connect to their outer rail set for the ultimate in tubular SFC bracing. So I want to see if I can get them together first or can upgrade when the time comes, and also because they won't tell me anymore info past "they are in R&D right now", which was 1 year ago.

I 100% disagree with that statement. Do you know how many people are doing the swap using manifolds or 4th gen shorty style headers because they can't afford the Hawks headers? A lot...

actually it doesn't matter on the make. there has been a few header company's out there that have promised lsx swap headers for third gens. i am still waiting to see a set other than hawks.
as for the market not being big enough. did you know that the ltx/lsx engine swap forum is bigger than the original swap forum.
i just feel that our cars are treated like red headed step children and are not taken seriously by the major aftermarket industry'
As for myself i can afford the hawks headers and do have them which i think are awesome. it would be nice to have a choice for those on a budget.
i just can't believe they are advertising lxs swap headers for other cars on this site.

Hey man, just breath and relax. Dont act rash! I mean do you relize just how much Holley ownes. You'd be seriously limiting your ride by boycotting THAT vendor. Just build some yourself, then there will be two people who make them.

Re: wtf hooker headers?

Kinda off topic but, I run two pair of SFC's, inner's and outer's fully tied(welded) to the frame but not connected to each other. If I had my choice I'd done it with the floor pans out(not installed), because it would make doing the exhaust more do-able. Even with custom oval tubing its a nightmare. Maybe thats what's taking them(Spohn) so long. Just a quik thought. hope it helps.

Re: wtf hooker headers?

I'll vouch for Hooker's quality when it comes to their 2055's that fit our stock L98's. When and if they ever come out with the LSX swap headers, they'll probably be top notch as well. With Taiwan and China buying up just about all the known, reputable speed brands these days though, maybe not! Getting to the spark plugs is a royal PITA of course, but that just goes with the territory when it comes to headers. The coated 2055's I just installed on my car are AWESOME though! They fit beautifully and sound great!
