A surprise from 1AAUTO

Its the usual story with anyone who owns the rear hatch power pull down motor. My housing broke. So, I go looking around and see that 1AAUTO has the stock clear flimsy housing for the cheapest price (that I could find). So, I order it.

What I got, however, was well beyond expectations. I got the housing today (ordered it Sunday) and it was what I ordered but different. it is not the clear flimsy POS used for stock replacements. Instead, this one is made from black reinforced heavy duty plastic. It feels heavier in my hand, all the screw holes have reinforcement ridges molded in. It looks like a top quality piece. Can't wait to install it and see how it performs. Big thumbs up to 1A for a pleasant surprise.

Re: A surprise from 1AAUTO

Nice to know. Mine is ok but I'm sure it won't be long before it isn't. I was visiting a friend the other day and made a trip with him literally two doors down and left my hatch open. I didn't think about it until I was gone, but then it was all I could think about. Came back and his father "did me a favor" and shut it. All I could picture was him slamming it shut like any other car. I didn't ask, didn't want to know. I just thanked him. My own fault.

Yea same deal here. If I don't say anything about the hatch everyone assumes its a slam hatch. So I turned it into a slam hatch cause I didn't want to keep replacing it.

Good to know 1A has a quality replacement if I decide to revert it back. Let us know how it holds up.

I don't have a motorized hatch, I do however have a T/A wrap around spoiler. It's a spoiler not a grab handle. The GF knows better now.
I'm going to get a decal on the back of it that says NO HAND HOLD right in the middle... Not that anyone gets to touch the car.

Got the part installed today. Works like a champ. Absolutely no hesitations or anything. A big to 1Aauto.

Holding the 2 pieces side by side, the stock piece is so weak and puny.

Do they make the gear also? One that's not made of the brittle clear plastic?

That particular one's molded in black. Here's a link to them on our website.
