SuperRam Performance

Do you think I'll notice a gain in power by switching to a SuperRam on a stock L98, if so, how much hp?

yes, 2-3 tenth on a stock L98
I'd do headers and a 3" catback system first

Well I already have the cat back, and I plan on getting headers and a new cat soon.

So headers, catback, superram should be good for a good half a second off i suppose?

.

That should put me in the very low 14's perhaps high 13's if i get a good 60 ft time with good elevation.

What other bolts ons would help help along with the superram?

Ditto on what parts GOY suggests.

A SuperRam on a stock L98 is overkill.
Unless you plan to build the motor later, large tube runners, ported base and plenum is the better way to go.

I might one of the few, but I did not like the SuperRam on my 383.

Nothing to write home about...

Don't worry about a new exhaust, as true power comes from the valvetrain. Get you're hands on a used, but good, CC306 cam (they're cheap enough nowadays).

I ran that cam with an old L98 that I once had, and the MAF adjusted just fine... although chip work will in fact enhance it's performance, though.

Bump up the fuel pressure, and enjoy what the Super-Ram was really intended for.

super ram flows a ton more than the stock TPI so gains will be nice once you add some more fuel from the AFPR.

but like said above, the stock heads dont flow much more than the stock TPI intake, so theres still a restriction

I can go both ways with this question and peoples responses..

One is sure go get a Super ram it will work on a L98.. Your going to gain some tq and hp..

But then question is.. Is it really worth it? It's a bolt on modifaction and you will just need to build around it in the future to really have the full performance of it..

My first Big Mod was a Super Ram.. And it was not just a stock one either.. I gained Alot of power and top end.. I had a catback exhaust and pretty much all the easy free mods and a custom chip also..

So if you feel this is the best bolt on for your car then it would be your choice..

Heads are a thought also.. Heads can still work well with Tpi..
