Just to update I had my car to the track today and did pretty well and have decided that TPI is for tow rigs and 4x4s not performance cars

I was cutting 14.0s at about 100 mph with vortec heads stealth ram tes and cat back that was in the heat of the day with a really soft launch I picked up a half second with the intake swap so I was more than pleased with the results

Hrmm. Thats pretty much where we have my buddies GTA tuned right now (stock l98). I think now you need to work out the tune, and see if you can cut that down to a low 13 at around 105-106. I bet theres lots more room for improvement in the chip.

Good luck!

Yeah thats a seriously built car with alot of $$$ in it that would probably make more power with a different intake if you into that thats fine you can have it

Yeah, with a decent intake it would prolly trap something closer to 110mph..

I had a 355 with 8.9:1 compression, iron heads, stock tpi, flowtech headers, cats, etc, etc that went 12.80 @ 105.

I added a blower, and it went 12.60 at 110..

I added a singleplane manifold, and it went 12.40 @ 119.

Once your trapping 110+ it's a real fun car.. After 120, its just plane fast! If I can keep my new setup running long enough without breaking stuff, it should trap around 130.

Well, note where Allen (1989GTATransAm) and I are from...
We are very limited to what we can run here, so we make the best of what we got.
Its either highly modded TPI or super ram unless you are willing to fork over major $$$ for an entire LT1/LS1 swap.

We use california emissions around here, in regards to the dyno emissions test, but the inspector doesn't care if its TPI, or my modified singleplane EFI intake.

I guess you can't get away with that in california huh? That really blows

Actually my car is a POS and I hate it, it's just the engine combination that works "badass". The car is just another twisted thirdgen..

It really is amazing how well an engine works with the right intake and head combination.

BTW Z69, have you priced 67-69 Camaro's in Bako lately???? You are talking 7G's for a piece of junk these days, basket cases are going for 4G's..... I've owned three 68's and three 69's including a convertible. If I only knew then what I know now...........
