<--- engine build help

lookin for options on EFI. which is best for a "lower" rpm, 5500-5800? ill rarely see 6000.
what combos would you run for 475-500hp/trq?? naturally aspirated.

i know there is the HSR and Super Ram, what are some other types?
id like to do something a bit different?

I think a Super Ram, Ram Jet, HSR or a converted carb manifold could work with the right cam. Maybe a 220/224 or 224/230 cam?

to get that type of power out of a small block NA will be tough. i would look into a set of afr 195s and a HSR or super ram

To get close to 500ftlbs.
A 383,10.5 to 11 cr. 195-200cc heads, 224-230 @.050 on the intake cam.
And any of the listed intakes. The SR will favor torque, but the others may be easier to launch and be faster.
You could check out my web site or do a search here on First Intake for something different.

What kind of car will it be? Have you driven other cars of varrying power levels? A 300-400 Hp car is a lot of fun to drive on the street. But 500? You really don't need that for a street only car. You want it (me too), but don't need it. You would be hard pressed to attain that low end power with a N/A car.

its a iroc vert. 8pt cage sfc's as of now. it will have all new susp., bigger brakes, ect.

yeah 500 probably is a bit extreme
i may take it to the drags a few times, but not a lot. id rather have it set up for "road racing" but on the street.

i have driven a few cars with maybe like a 100 hp difference, 300 and 400 approx?

i seen an article in a CHP(i think), it was a 406 with vortec heads that made like 440hp-525ft/lbs. something along those ratings would be better for the street? huh?

it was carbed, but maybe adding EFI to that set up would maybe bump the power a bit too?

Here is a setup for high 11's I have seen. 383, AFR heads, Lingenfelter(219/219) or GM Hot Cam, with SuperRam or HSR. HSR had the Hot Cam, AFR heads, 383 running 10.5 running 11.73 in the quarter. The SuperRam had a 383, Lingenfelter cam, AFR 195cc heads running 11.9 quarter miles. I have the 180 cc AFR heads making around 450 to 470 ft lbs of torque with the HSR and 425hp and I can add more hp with bigger throttle body, bigger header primaries, etc.
