LT1 intake gasket
I measured my intake ports on my LT1 intake, then I measured the ports on my afr195's.
They are very close. I was going to use the FelPro 1205. The Afr's are about a 1/16" bigger than the LT1.
Would it help to gasket match that last 1/6th" ?
Is there any other intake gaskets that people used for their LT1 intake conversion on a sbc1?

Re: LT1 intake gasket
I searched this and the 2 gaskets were a fel-pro1205 and a intake gasket from a '72 camaro(John McMillan said this).
What did others use?
Did anyone have to port match?

Re: LT1 intake gasket
I feel like I am talking to myself
I put the fel-pro 1205 gasket on my afr's and the lt1 intake. It works great on the heads but it is very close on the coolant ports on the intake. Too close that it might cause a coolant leak.
So I'm going to buy gasket paper and make my own. One side is 3" x 20" x 1/16"

Re: LT1 intake gasket
I used a 1205 Fel-pro gasket and it is very close but does seal. I also looked at a MR Gasket intake gasket and it had more material to seal the water passages. I do not remember the part number.

This one?
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...G&autoview=sku
----------
Also, I was reading the instructions on the afr's and this is the recomendation they said for the intake gasket
"Do not port match your manifold exactly to the gasket - leave 0.050 per side smaller."
Why do they say this??

What did you end up doing here LB9GTA?
I'm running into the same issue and would love to know what you ended up doing.

Re: LT1 intake gasket
I bought gasket paper and cut my own.
Actually, I cut 2 sets once I made the 1st one(just in case).
It's not that hard, just take your time and trace out the ports.

Re: LT1 intake gasket
Is it working for you without any problems?
This is what I will do if it doesn't seal the first time.
Thanks.
