once again why is this happening?
I pulled the motor today to fix all my leaks...thats in another thread but Im still having the issue of puddling fuel in my plenum and in between the gasket and the plenum...why? I also have puddling I think on the valley right under the Fuel pressure....Im pretty sure its fuel...as the powder coating is all bubbled up right there where the puddle is....
what do I check on to see why this is happening? now would be the time cause I have the motor out and its alot easier to work on...could my regulator be bad? how would I check that?
the pictures are old but when I just took it off I had the same thing...the one of the back of the intake is new...I just found this out when I pulled the motor.
valley full of something?

the same as when I just pulled it apart..except there was alot of pooling inside the plenum

is that why Im having a no-start issue after it runs for a while..then I have to wait about 15mins or so and it will fire back up?

Re: once again why is this happening?
It's just a leak. Standard leak finding and repair techniques should work.
It could be the FPR, but it doesn't look like it. One of the fittings probably?
If the fitting that leaks is O-ring, replace the O-ring; if it's pipe thread, take them apart, clean the threads, and use about 4-5 wraps of Teflon tape; if it's the flare, check carefully for dings in the seat or other imperfections, and smooth out or replace.

Re: once again why is this happening?
Im pretty sure I found what it is...When I removed my intake I also found puddling of fuel in one of my head ports sitting on top of the closed valve...
So ive come to the conclusion that it is a or a few leaking injectors.
I called Kirban about the fuel regulator and he had no problem replacing it but says that it will not be the reg...said that all it is a spring and a diaphram...and if it was leaking and not holding pressure or even if it had a pin hole in the diaphram that I would have a hard time cranking the car up if able to at all.
Like Ive said Ive been having a restart problem and would have to wait 15 or so mins to fire up again..
He told me that once I shut the car off the injector leaks fuel into the port therfore fludding the car out..."hence my problem"
Also when I cut the car off I can watch the fuel pressure gauge slowly start to go down in pressure....which he said was my injector leaking fuel...
So I went ahead and bought me some SVO 30lbs injectors.

Ok..I understand that but if the regulator was bad...it wouldnt cause a puddle in my heads would it? Thats what leads me to think it my injectors. I already purchased me some new SVO 30lb'rs
The guy from Kirban says the reason for what you see above on the plenum is because of fuel condensation rising out of the head and coming from that leaking injector. Just told me that he's 100% positve that the regulator is not bad...but like I said if it is ..he wont have a problem changing it for me.

Re: once again why is this happening?
To me that looks more like oil what does a leakdown show? How do the plugs look? Are they oil or gas fouled? If you don't know how to read them post a picture and I'll see if I can help.

Re: once again why is this happening?
I dont know how to do a leak down..the sparks plugs looked ok but they did have so gas on them...just the couple where the fuel injectors were leaking. THats not oil........cause when I removed it I let sit out and it all evaporated from the gaskets...they are dry now....oil wont do that. ..I bought me some new injectors...and I will be firing up the car tomorrow after changing the injectors, fixing an intake gaskets leak, changing the oil pan, oil pump and pickup, and changing the flexplate cause I ruined it......had to pull the motor and trans.....then Im headed to Mustang week at Myrtle Beach....gonna crash their party!!....

I going with the oil theory also. Do you have PCV to the throttle body?
My guess is your pulling oil through it and into the plenum. Try some type of filter material inside the valve cover where the hose connects. Mine is similiar. It was worse with the long runner TPI. I used RTV between the intake and plenum to stop the seepage. I am considering another way to vent the crank case pressure to prevent this.

Re: once again why is this happening?
I went ahead and did what you did and put just a little RTV on the plenum gasket.....I fired the motor again today....and let it run and shut it off.....and was able to fire it right back up....and here an hour later..my fuel pressure is still at 35 when before it would have already been all the way down to ZERO...so that problem is fixed...so it was the injectors
this car is a nightmare but when I get all the bugs out...its gonna rock..cause it will spin the tires at a 40 punch......WOW!!!.
