New BBK intake
Didn't know if anyone has seen this. I personally don't like the look of it but it sounds like its going to perform pretty well and the price isn't too bad. Supposed to come out this coming winter.

Re: New BBK intake
I've been hearing about this for 3-4 years, I can't believe there's finally a picture. It doesn't look half bad and also looks like it has to be easier to assemble than a Super Ram. 50 horsepower on a stock long block though? That seems a bit optimistic.

DO a search on this. There are 2 threads. One has an actual BBK R&D employee giving his
and another just more or less raising your hand if you intend on getting one or are really intersested. One is under the TPI forum and the other under Alternate Fuel Injection or Intake (whatever its called).

Re: New BBK intake
I've read both of those threads, this was just the first time I've seen an actual picture of it. It looks good, IMO, but I just can't wait to see street results/dragstrip numbers to back up a claim of "50 horsepower on an otherwise stock engine."

Wow that is a really long running thread. All the way back to 2004. That's pretty crazy. They said it would be coming out back within like six months back then and 4 years later its still six months away. Sorry about the repost and thanks for taking it easy on me.

Re: New BBK intake
The above might be true but doesn't it bring a 50hp curver sooner in the rpm band? I haven't bothered looking yet because I'm not ready to buy another intake setup just yet but lets say, they introduce the 50hp curve 1000rpms sooner than stock?
BTW, IF I do go this root I'm going to sell my ported TPIS base, siamesed SLP polished runner and hogged out, polished upper intake...its justa must do.

Re: New BBK intake
Looks like the graphs say it shifts the power band up 500 rpm, and you get 210hp @ 4500 RPM rather than 180 @ 3800 RPM. Also looks like you lose torque up until 3800 RPM, where it then sticks around 'till a lot higher RPM.
Or I could have gotten these graphs back-asswards. I never know.

Re: New BBK intake
And I think according to the rep he was designing it for the modded car, not the stocker. Since that's the stock dyno, I wonder how that modded out 'vette he tested it on performed. :P

Re: New BBK intake
It brings the power later in the RPM band, as would be expected from a shorter runner, better flowing intake. You lose low-end grunt for top end power.
