HSR fuel rail fitting and throttle blade bracket hit
I didnt' realize this was going to be an issue but I have mocked everything up on the bench to check fits etc. I have a 91 style BBK 58mm throttle body and I noticed the driver side front fuel rail fitting is keeping the throttle cable bracket from come back all the way. What are you speed density guys using for a throttle body? I'd hate to have to swap throttle bodies if I dont' need to. This was of course the suggestion from Holley ("Buy our 58mm TB"). I was going to look at possibly some Earl's fittings up front so maybe they would have a better chance of clearing. The only other thought I had was to fab an aluminum spacer of about .750" to 1.000" and use that as a nitrous plate for the future or addtional injectors.

I would fab a plate. I think I would use the plate for water/methanol inj.

Well your motor is supercharged so why not buy or fab one of the nitrous plates that goes behind the TB and use it for meth injection like drknow is suggesting. Takes care of your clearance problem and would allow you to make more hp and prevent detonation.

The plate is going to have to be thicker than those NOS plates. Those are only .500" thick. Mine is .750" thick. I also meant to include methanol as a possible resident on that plate as well. I actually am not supercharged at the moment. I'm rebuilding the motor with aluminum heads (200cc int) this time and sold the procharger head unit. The plan right now is to buy a F1A head unit from Procharger around April. THEN, methanol will certainly be in place.

on my car i have used both holley 58mm and stock tb. the stocker hit the rail fitting on drivers side as well and i had to grind alittle off the half circle bracket where the cable wraps around. Got it to clear.
HOlley's 58 clears everything just fine

Sorry I meant either buy or make something similar to this spacer then put the meth injectors into it. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rsview=sku&Ns= The nice thing about that piece is the screw pattern milled into it which should put turbulence into the intake charge and promote better mixture, further down the intake track. Plus even if you had to buy the spacer cause you can't make one 100 bucks is a lot better than 350 for the holley TB

I'll probably just grind. But OMG, that summit piece is a F'IN beast. 1.000" thick!!! I'd have to get creative with my plumbing coming from my supercharger if I used that. I run a SS hood so clearances are forgiving but both my .750 idea and that summit piece would probably cause me a headache now that I think of it. Oh well, I'm porting and gasket matching aluminum heads and my HSR this weekend so I might as well do the BBK throttle body at the same time.
Thanks for the input guys.
