Sorry for another probably pointless thread.

I'm looking at Holley's stealth ram MPFI setup from summit and don't exactly know what all I will need in terms of an ignition setup.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, how will I get the timing in sync with the injector pulses. That would seem difficult to do running through two programs? I factory EFI setups decently but feel like I am at a total loss when it comes to this.

Its going in an 85 z28 hopefully next year along with a new 383 block. How would I go about the fuel pump setup(I have a mechanical fuel pump)?

Also, I have been looking at Blueprint designs short blocks and am really impressed. What do y'all think about the 383 blocks they have? I'm open to all reasonable suggestions.

IIRC holleys MPFI system is still triggered by the dist. I sold a few of them setups and the dist holley recomends is the small cap external coil GM style(stock tpi dist) or MSD part number 8366

But what would I do about advance? TPI isn't vaccuum advance so I'm trying to figure out where the timing advance would come from.

Are you buying the whole MPFI kit with the ECU? If so it has advance curves / timing tables.

The 2600 dollar setup. I believe it has the ECU. But would I basically go with a distributor like in a tpi setup with a remote mount coil?

You need a high pressure electric pump and a return line from the fuel reg

On EFI setups advance is controlled by the computer which is why you need a " computer controlled " dist like the stock remote coil one mentioned above.
The factory computer controlled HEI works the same way but won't fit a HSR intake

Could do it a lot cheaper using OEM parts (ECM / dist ) and a aftermarket standalone harness
HSR $600
58mm TB $320 (new )
Dist ( used ) $50
injectors ( new ) <$200
Walbro inline EFI pump $100+
ECM used $50 -100

Standalone harness $250+

Ready to run ECM/ Harness setup

Many of the parts you need are often for sale on 3rd Gen at very good prices.
I bought a HSR intake with fuel rails last week for $200

So how would I go about the inline fuel pump setup? Would I need to mount a sump on my tank or just mount it inline with no mods to the gas tank?

Delete that comment ;
Was thinking you were doing a retro fit.
Just upgrade tank pump if needed

I am doing a retro fit. I have a mechanical pump on the side of the block.

So you need the pump setup from a later EFI car or mount a inline pump and filter somewhere down by the tank
In any case you are going to need a return line for the bypass
Some run a new ( larger ) supply line and use the old line as the return from regulator

from everything that I have heard the blueprint blocks are trash, never personally used one for that reason.
