Which Stealth Ram do I have?
I picked this Stealth Ram up a few years ago and never installed it and have since lost the installation manual and can't find any information through Google or Holley's website about it. Thought maybe someone here could help me out.
On the bottom, molded in the metal is 701R-126 and the date 02/06/07. On the opposite end, BB is molded into the metal. In the middle, an actual ink stamp shows 021407.
I believe this to be the non-vortec base, but I really don't remember. The only part numbers I can find anywhere online are 7542, etc.

Vortec only has 4 bolt holes per side; reg SBC has 6
7542 is Vortec base

Re: Which Stealth Ram do I have?
Thank you so much. Now I just need to sell it so I can get the Vortec version to use with my AFR 190 heads.
From what I can tell I will only need to sell the base. I can reuse the fuel rail and plenum, right?

Re: Which Stealth Ram do I have?
Only the base is different
Probably be more saleable as a complete unit ( base and plenum ) and buy whole new Vortec setup
Not many looking for base only unless you can find someone with opposite problem to you to swap bases with

Re: Which Stealth Ram do I have?
Looks like I need to look into things a little more. AFR's website says they're Vortec heads but wanabe03ss says his have the standard sbc bolt pattern. I'll do a mockup after I get the other head installed this weekend and go from there.

AFR makes a vortec head model 912

I've been thinking about swapping to standard heads on my car since there are many more options. Might be interested in swapping intakes.

Well, well, well. Interesting turn of events. I went out to the garage to check for those bolt holes and found that they in fact are there, but they look different from yours.
I did a quick mockup just holding the base against the head and all the holes line up. Am I good to go?

Re: Which Stealth Ram do I have?
You should be all good, I wonder if my heads were shaved on the intake side? My intake valves are 2.05 and the ports are professionally blended. the machinest who just redid the springs and valve jobs said it looked like AFR did the work...... I dont know for sure.

Re: Which Stealth Ram do I have?
I see a couple of things that suggest yours were shaved. Maybe it was for hood clearance?
The big part that drops down between the bolt holes is a different size (yours is bigger) and the distance from the edge of the hole to the edge of the face is different (yours is smaller). You're also missing that big, fat lip up at the top. Either that or they changed the casting somewhere along the line. Kind of makes me wonder because mine has that extra hole between the bolt holes.

Re: Which Stealth Ram do I have?
With the different bolt angle on those holes ,your heads appear to be bolt on replacements for '87+ cast iron heads ; bolt angle is 72 degrees vs 90 degrees for reg ( pre '87 ) heads
The HSR base should have the center bolt holes elongated to fit either style ; at worst you can file the holes out
That would be the feed for the stock EGR valve which the HSR does not have
HSR will just seal that hole
