lt1 intake on 1gen sbc i want a miniram

I want a MINIRAM but ran short on money I an pay up to 800 shipped I don't need injectors or tb

I was looking at the lt1 intake to see what has to be done..... a lot a hole for the dizzy the bolt and lock for the dizzy and bolt pattern for older style heads. Is it worth it. I seen a new 1 for 120 complete what more needs to be done

I have LT1 heads and intake set up for gen 1 blocks. I went a different route so there just taking up space. I would sell for $400 for everything

The LT1 intakes are nice, but the main downfall at least for me, it that you also have to run a remote stat because there is no provision for it. It adds cost and more clutter under the hood. I know they are out there already converted, just make sure it looks like they were done correct.

What mods have you got to support a MR / LT1 style intake on a 305?

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/post...428-post2.html

Going to want to pulls some big revs in a 305; given a MR will go well past 6K on a 350 or larger engine
and you will loose bottom end more on a 305 .
No throttle response and lack of power below 2500 =pig

i mean i was dumb about 305s too and i got good numbers out of it but then you look at or start building an engine with more cubes and you just realize what you did was stupid. why not build a 383 now instead of wasting money

I dnt have 6k to do it and I won't take no short cuts. Why do most ppl say the are modding they 305 cause they don't have the money or means to

I had a 305 once. I didn't mod it. I cruised it until I could afford a new engine, and I didn't pretend it was fast.

As far as LT1 intakes go, might as well just go HSR. It's gonna cost the same anyway, plus there's quite a bit of work involved. I looked into that route when I was planning my 383 build. I ended up going single plane. They all cost the same, and the single plane will outperform the others (I guess that's an opinion, but I have great throttle response down low, and she keeps pulling to 6000rpm).

Re: lt1 intake on 1gen sbc i want a miniram

I have the converted LT1 intake on my car right now.

It is great, but what would you be willing to spend to buy a LT1 intake that is ready for a sbc1?

Re: lt1 intake on 1gen sbc i want a miniram

Idk I will just stick with my new ported tpi set up if I don't run across a hsr or mini ram I will start to look in to used afrmrk runners to match. I can't wait till I get the money I want to do the 305 just to say to more ppl "its a 305" I know all the reasons to why a 305 is a bad idea to build up but who cares its my car if I wanted to do a iron duke with bolt ons so be it just enjoy the show. I just want a 300hp 305 for kicks like when honda ppl mod D15 honda has way better motors
