new Chinese 285$ hsr
Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
I saw this on eBay today. I am not associated with the company, and I don't know anything more than what the ad says. I do know for under $200 this is intriguing...

This seller was selling one a couple weeks ago too. I'm guessing they have a supply of these (I'm assuming they're the StreetMasters) and are selling by auction one at a time. Last one sold for $205 + $35 shipping. Still a decent price.

$175 is a good deal. I was waiting forever for mine through Jegs and eventually got tired of waiting and found a used Holley Stealth Ram for sale for $175. Still have to put the beast on yet though...

It's quality aluminum. But get ready to fix a bunch of port alignment issues. And Teflon your injector orings because of injector leaks. Unless they've fixed the alignment issues.
But in the right hands they can be made to flow a pile of air. They're a hotrodders piece.

Re: new Chinese 285$ hsr
Mine showed up this week. I've been mocking it up on a spare engine I have on a stand.
First - the one I got came with a Vortec only base, despite what the auction said. I have no issues with this since I was going to use it on a Vortec motor anyway. I contacted the seller and they basically said thanks for the heads up.
Second - the plenum would not bolt to the manifold. The spacing on the plenum was ~1/8" too narrow front to back. There is plenty of metal there, so I just carefully drilled out the holes to slightly larger and did my best to offset the new hole to the outside. It then bolted up with no fuss. I was glad to have a drill press, though.
Third - the fuel injector bosses on the manifold aren't beveled at all. They have a sharp machined edge on them. I am going to buy a countersink drill bit to put a good bevel on them to avoid trashing my injector o-rings.
Just eyeballing the ports they actually appear to line up pretty well with the Vortec heads. They could use some clean up, no doubt and I need to line up a set of gaskets to see how that looks, but overall that side of it seems good.
I bought the Speedmaster fuel rail for $56 off Ebay, from the same vendor selling the intakes right now. I will probably buy their FPR, too, since the Kirban one doesn't just bolt up like it does on the Holly rails. I am hoping they can get it in black as I don't want red or blue.
Had the same issue with the fuel rails as everyone else, the injector spacing is just a little bit different.
