New Build Comments and suggestions.

I met with a local engine shop to go over a build and this is my list so far

Bore my 350 4 bolt block to a 355
new bearing and plugs
cast steel crank
forged pistons and rods CR to be around 9.6
AFR 1040 or competition port heads not sure of number on those
1.6 rockers
XFI 280 flat tappet cam
HSR intake port matched to heads.

Will be using 1 3/4 long tubes and 2600-2800 stall converter.

I am looking for 400-450 HP with ok street manners. I think this would make a great combo. Any suggestions on changes or improvements to get more out of it are welcome. But I am looking to keep this build under 4k and reusing some parts i already have.

reusing
stock 48 mm throttle body should be enough??
ford svo 24lb injectors may have to go to 30's ??

Re: New Build Comments and suggestions.

you need a 58mmTB. You will need 30lbs injectors. Get the compression up to 10.5. Use 2 valve relief pistons and a .028 thickness head gaskets.

I have a Holley commander 950 setup.

I also changed things up a little. I am buying a 383 crate motor from ATK and they will install the XFI 280 cam for me when they build it for only a little more $$

Good idea to go 383.You will love the torque. With the rest of your parts you will have a very strong motor.Better beef up your brakes.

Yeah I hope to be close to the 500HP mark with that engine!! They are doing all forged internals for me as well and its less then my local engine builder and I get to keep my existing engine.
