What color is that on your Camaro? It looks like it is a 4th gen color. I am painting mine this summer and my wife likes that color (gotta keep her happy so I can keep getting parts!). Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info. We are looking at spraying it the dark burgandy that the 4th gens use. Right now it is a very faded dark red metallic. Thanks again.

 

it looks to me like the stock color that they used on 91's it was called dark metallic red.......same thing i had on mine before the paint change. they changed the 92 color with a different metallic and it wasn't as "sparkly" still called the same though.

here's an old pic of my car with the stock dark metallic red. at night or in poor light it would look dark like the above car and in bright sunlight it would like like my pic.

it may very well be a custom color, but if you had to pick a stock color that was offered the dark metallic would be it. the color never looks the same twice.

here's another car with same color notice how it's alot darker in this pick than it was in mine.

if it's a custom color, then you would need to know the exact mix.

the 4thgen burgandy doesn't have as much metallic in it as the color that was offered for the late model 3rdgen like on my 91. it's all preference.

What I meant was a more purplish tint to her car.

 

Here is the 86 Flame Red Metallic. It looks different, too.

I actually really like this colour, until it gets dusty. Then it just looks dull and lifeless--almost brown and with no depth.

I just want some more info on Ryane car!! Like what type of engine and maybe so pictures of her interior/engine. I just want more info on her car. It is one nice ride!! I tryed 3rdgen.org but it was being stupid. It would let me log in but it would not let me go th the message board it would say you have to log in so I just decided to post her for more info.

 

heres some pics of my 91 in dark red metallic.i agreee with kandied it does tend to change hues in different light and angles.i think its the best color to get on a thirdgen.shows the lines of our cars the best of any color IMHO
