How many would like one of these? How is it that I'm living with out this?

With my luck Some **** would pop up there, distract me from the road causing me to pull a curb check.

.... still looking for a price on the net here. Well I would use it as the driver. Drive someone to the beer store then send the in the store to get the brew while I'm outside playing some unreal tournament. Or if I'm betting a load of money on the Texas Rangers (dont ask why ) Well when they lose I can drive myself off a cliff.

They sell an adapter piece for a laptop to hook up to the cig lighter, I need to get one of those for the long rides to college.

>hehe well the real reason I want it is to get 5.1 to THX stereo controll. Guitar recording where ever ya are. And some how tap into the ECM to get error codes in real time + HP and dyno testing right in your car. Come on this is the year 2002 these things are now possible. Disposible cell phones that work like calling cars things like this, thats what I NEED.

all hail :hail: Technology

Do you need the ECM for dyno results??

Did you get my email, I sent you some more videos if you wanted to upload them.

I'm uploading my Video Picture movie that I'm doing, but it's only a sample with a couple of cars and one sound clip, I still have some bugs to work out, but I figured I'd see what you thought of it. I'll email it to you.

Probably dont need the ecm for the dyno, but someone will have to make a addapter that goes from your rear wheel to a deal that would act like the electric speed sensor.

Now that I get to thinking about it I might be able to make one. Small wheel cable>vss like sensor>usb hook up >to pc>to a designed program that picks up on electric pulses>write a dyno program> sell it for cash.

>feel free to steal my Idea just sell me one for cheap.

>just got the mail, give me about 15 min. on that.

That'd go nice with a HalTech ECM, better than doing tuning on a laptop. But C'mon, Windows 98 That'd have to go!

My friend and I are working on some computer systems for our cars. Right now his car is done but on a smaller scale. He is running a 10 inch touch tablet running custom software that controls lighting and other misc toys in the car. I am working on a larger system that is a will have a 15" flat LCD touchscreen running to a laptop in the back seat. I have a nice sony vaio laptop that has dvd, seirra wireless card, and nice audio/video features. This way I can not only control things like lighting in the car but I can have DVD on a nice big screen, wireless internet connectivity in the car, gps running on the screen, and I can also run things like diacom, or datamaster and have a nice screen to watch my car stats and not have to leave a laptop in the passanger seat.

The 15" screen is a little large but I am trying to figure the pinouts on a 10" flat lcd i pulled out of a laptop.

I know most will think it is over the top but **** happens when you mix a computer geek and cars.

I hope to have it finished and working by mid June for the Carlisle show. I am not going to enter it but some people on the board might like to see it.

The only thing I would worry about is the hard drive. You know those things cant take to many bumps.

>check out this persons setup.

Maybe a cd/rw or dvd/rw would do. A touch screen for limited functions and a USB hub for kb/mouse/digicam.

sony laptops actually very durable. Had a sony take a 2 foot fall and didnt skip a beat. It will be mounted well with foam though.

You would think a hard drive in a car would be a bad thing but hasnt given me any troubles. I have put maybe 10 PCs in cars so far never a problem with the HDs. This will be the first laptop though. We shall see.
