91-92 Z28/RS rims

Ok I have one of two choicses to make, 1. take the used 91-92 Z28/RS rims I have and get them chromed or 2. Buy new 91-92 Z28/RS rims. Which one do ya'll think would be better to do? If you think chromed is better does anyone have a pic of them I can see? If you think I should buy new ones, where can get ahold of em? I recall seeing them for sale once on some site but can't remember where Thanks

You can use the old ones.

They'll work just fine unless they have curb damage on em...

Talk to KandiedZ, he has chrome plated 91-92 RS/Z28s.

Damn! Thos look real nice! So is it nessessary to polish them befor you get them plated? I only ask because I don't have any way of polishing my rims at this moment. Again thos are good looking rims!

nope.......nothing is necessary! it wasn't necessary to add an extra layer of clear or 2 on my car either but it paid off!

either way the rims will have to be polished, if you go to a major retail chain you will recieve an aftermarket set of wheels that have been polished an plated.

if you go to a wheel chrome shop and polish them yourself you can have rims that will look better than aftermarket for alot less as well as knowing they are the oem rims! it's all about preference and how you are about your car.

expect to pay 5-700 for aftermarket single plate job if you go to a major retail chain.

Here is a picture of the kind of rim you had mentioned. I bought a set for my car and had them redone. They aren't chrome as you mentioned, but they are machine redone and painted like stock. Just thought I'd show ya.

Thanks! I took them to Wheel Collision Center. It cost me $606 total but that was due to that one of the the rims had a wobble, one was bent, and the other two were okay. That also included the mounting of new tires. They've fixed rims for me before and I knew they did wonderful work so I didn't mind shelling out the cash for quality work.

Those refinished rims look awesome.

I have the same exact set (91-92 RS/Z28s w/ white trim) but I wish they were silver... the brake dust just eats the white...
