dude u need to get a ram air hood or make that stock hood functional. becuz when my brother put the k&n andhad his mods done to his car, we were goin to the local curise night and with how hot it was that day the car was lackin the power becuz it got the hot air from the engine and out side. so id say make the hood functional so u could get sum more air under there.

Cool! Cant beleive its a hundred dollars though. For some reason the wing nut that came with it doesnt fit my car. The threads dont match. The srew is fine and the nut is course. I have a disappointing reg. nut on there. Did you cut a hole for the censor? Thats what I did and then I stupidly put the shaveings down the toilet in my last apartrment. Rust spots everywhere, looks like a permanent diarrhea splatter

Scared me good one day when I stood up and looked down at that ****. WOW! oh the rust what was I thinking oh well I'm moving anyway Suckers!!:sillylol:

>The plate I want to take off but I'm waiting got the Rain to go away. That would be a paint to take off and put in.

REDBIRD -

All you gotta do is find an 82-84 TA in the junk yard with the funtional hood scoop. Then go in there and take the honeycomb plate and us it to replace your solid plate.

That's what I did to mine ... works wonderfully. I even sprayed mine gloss black ... one of the best appearance mod's i've done!

Just my $0.02

Yeah I wanted to do that. How much did they charge you for the funtional one? Well I wanted to save this money for exhaust but if I go to a junk yard I'll come back with two fenders and that ta part then who knows whats next. The owner that had the car before me was a 4 foot tall hindo who didnt park well or change the oil for a year. Engine was shot when we got it. Sludge from hell too.

Here's my setup. I just stuck the air sensor thing under between the base and the Throttle Body. Its probably being pinched in there pretty badly, but its not running bad, or throwing codes, so I figure its alright. Tell me whatchu think.

Also in the pic of my last post you can see the honeycomb piece that I used to replace the solid plate in the bulge.

Another thing, does that padding under the hood do anything specific for the car?? I know it kinda keeps the heat off the hood and protects the paint a little, but will it hurt me if I rip it all out???
