Just getting excited about starting the LeMans restoration. Anyone else have the old A-bodies? Chevelles, Cutlass, GTO's...

No pics of the goat as I don't have a digital camera. I can tell you some details to (hopefully) give you some kind of visual.

1970 hardtop
Standard 400 cubic inch v-8 motor
4-speed close ratio transmission
Pepper green exterior with a sandalwood vinyl top
sandalwood interior
Rally II wheels with P235/60/R14 Futura Super Sport tires

It's in pretty good condition for a 32 year old car. It's decent but one day I do hope to go all out and restore it to showroom (or better) condition

A-Bodies Rule!!!

'68 Hurst/Olds here, all matching numbers. And my '67 442 post is my current daily driver until I get the theft damage to Hugger fixed.

Sounds like nice cars guys!!!

My 72 LeMans has the same color interior. I am going to make a GTO look a like with it. Maybe a Judge spoiler.

I used to have a 72 Cutlass Supreme, but the frame was gone on it so I sold it for my Camaro.

I love the older cars though, no matter how fast my camaro is, I still dont get the looks my 16 second LeMans gets.

I know. I am working out a deal with my pontiac engine builder. I may be ending up with a 68 complete GTO and a black 69 LeMans for under $750!!

I used to have a 64 Skylark that was gonna be a restoration project. But I let the car sit for a couple of years and it developed some serious frame rot. I should have restored it when I got it. Now my Camaro sits where the Skylark used to sit! A-bodies are cool. If I had the room in my yard, I'd get another one.

hmm , all these nice pics of peoples chevelles... heres my beatiful piece of history! :P

i dont know how to make the pic show up on the post, so the best i can do is put the link on here, sorry.

hahaha gotta love the mismatch wheels, firebird front wheels, back wheels off my dads T-Bucket... can ya see where the fenders are bondo? nice can of purple spray paint fixed that... car used to have headers, then glasspacks, then nothing , but fumes were really bad and every where i went i had a buzz.. hmmm. so now there is a little pipe that comes out right before the back tires, can kinda see it ... it makes setting peoples alarms off ALOT easier.. haha

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/mshrmhd/v...iew=t&.hires=t

mmm.. gotta love the grille, i dont remember but im pretty sure it is a 71 monte carlo grille, it has some wire holding it up there..

http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/mshrmh...c=bc%26.view=t

Gotta love the SS dash , i think the Malibu one is kinda gay. and the clock even works most of the time! every once in a while itll stop , then a few minutes later it picks back up .

http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/mshrmh...c=bc%26.view=t

so, anyways, whatcha guys think? i got it when i was 16... im 19 now.. it looks kinda bad on the outside, but before the head gasket blew, it was a fast car speedo only goes to 120, but its been buried, and it gets there pretty quick.

You guys are bringing back to many memories. I had a Chevelle when I was 16. My father and I restores it, and I crashed it into a tree. I want another so bad. I am planning on selling the Camaro in a year or so to buy another 72 Chevelle.
