Nah.... You just airbrushed your boat (boat=boat race=Face) onto the hood!.
Very, very nice.
I do think that you have two advantages however. 1. Blue reflects better than red, and 2. The sun is higher for you, giving better reflective properties.

On that pic I hadn't use any wax yet, just the 3M polishing products, after water sanding the paint.
