What kind of rims are these?

Its off this new car...

Development progress - the Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron in the autumn of 2001

Molsheim, September 2001. BUGATTI Automobiles S.A.S. is exhibiting the latest evolution stage of its Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron at the 59th International Automobile Exhibition (the 'IAA') in Frankfurt, Germany. Finished in two colors, namely 'Rouge Ventoux' and 'Noir', and thus recalling the Bugatti T 57 C Ventoux Coupe of 1938, the design study is much closer to production maturity than before in both the power train and body areas. The first performance figures have also been finalized: it will reach a top speed of 406 km/h (252 mph) and accelerate from a standstill to 300 km/h (186 mph) in under 14 seconds.

Link to the car: http://www.vwvortex.com/news/09_01/bugatti/index.shtml

now if my car could do 0-186 in under 14 seconds id be happy :hail:

I would assume that the wheels are made by bugatti seeing as the car appears to still be in pre-production stage, and the same badging appears on the center caps and on the steering wheel, usually wheel companies have their own logo on the wheels when used on a concept vehicle, although I could be wrong.

I wonder what that W16 sounds like. almost looks like an engine out of an aircraft.

Nifty Engine...

I'd like to see a shot of the block, here's some info from the site

The alloy-block W16 engine in the Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron is innovative and totally unique. Two exceptionally narrow V8 cylinder blocks using the VR principle are combined at an included angle of 90 degrees. The resulting 16-cylinder engine can develop a mighty 736 kilowatts (1,001 brake horsepower) at 6,000 revolutions per minute. The W16 is installed as a mid-engine ahead of the rear axle, and measures only 710 millimetres in length and 767 millimeters in width. Four turbochargers help to give this 7,993-cc engine a peak torque never before available in a passenger car: 1,250 newton-meters (922 lb/ft of torque). The temperature of the charge air is reduced by passing it through two water-cooled charge-air intercoolers located above the cylinder heads. No fewer than 64 valves admit the mixture to the cylinders and expel the exhaust gas; they are operated by roller cam followers from four chain-driven overhead camshafts with continuously variable valve timing.
It doesn't look that bad from this shot, although I would change the wheels, exhaust and make the car one color.

Oh yeah, did you guys read that it is all-wheel-drive?!! :hail: :hail:

Had it not been developed specifically for the Bugatti EB 16-4 Veyron, the new seven-speed gearbox could well have come directly from the pen of a top Formula One racing car designer. Gear shifts take place sequentially at paddles behind the steering wheel, and there is no clutch pedal. The double clutch transmission (DCT) shifts from one gear to the next in a maximum of 0.2 of a second. Power from the engine reaches the wheels through a permanent all-wheel drive system.

Damn, that's a wack-*** looking car. And, just for the record, the Sledgehammer 'Vette still wins on top end.

Don't care for the looks. Like the powertrain though, plus "VR" engines are just plain cool. One downfall to tightly spaced banks like that is that you start to run out of room for your intake ports, and they are forced to be on the small side. Boost can help this out though, just push the air hard enough and it'll fit through a small hole
