JUST DO A SEARCH ON WETSANDING. YOUR QUESTION HAS BEEN ANSWERED SEVERAL TIMES AND THERE ARE STEP BY STEP INSTUCTIONS ON HOW TO WET SAND SO NO NEED FOR ME TO GUIDE YOU. IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO STAND OUT - WETSAND IT. AND WITH PATIENCE AND TIME YOU CAN DO THIS YOURSELF.
I'll asume you just got a 2pak paint job.
wetsand with 1200 OR finer using a colouring block(firm but flexes), add a little soap to your water which will aid slip, be very gentle of edges and corners. Use a machine buff with a foam pad @ about 1500rpm using a fine suitable cutter for your paint, I use Farecla G3. Then use a coloring/Glaze compound on a dimple pad (damp),I use 3M pads & "foam polishing pad glaze", there are 2 types 1 for dark paint & 1 for light colors. Make sure you wash well between every application as it splatters into cracks & crevises & the longer you leave it the harder it is to get off.
Its hard to tell you how far to block it (wetsand) without seeing your paint first hand & knowing how much paint they used.
polish by hand after you are done. After you are finished the most important thing to do is crack a can of beer & enjoy!!!
GOOD LUCK

Jacko is spot on,I've seen the difference before and after on a coloursanded paint job and the difference is unreal. It can take a paint job from being very good to being stunning. When I do mine (painting still in progress) I will probably use 1500 or 2000 wet and dry (me being paranoid perhaps).Takes a fair while to do but well worth it.
