Is there such a thing as a Pro Am firebird? Somebody is selling one around here and it has a Pro Am sticker on it. He is selling it for a friend and don't know much about the car. Is it a real car model like the Transam or just a sticker?

My next door neighbor has the 4th gen Pro am just like the one in the picture, well it is blue with silver lower body color. It only has the v6.

The Pro-Am III Firebird was done by a company (no longer in business) in Chattanooga, TN. It was a base V6 Firebird with large "Pro-Am III" lettering on the doors. The stock hood got a fiberglass ram air scoop attached to the top (looking the Firehawk/WS6 hood), but was not functional. Also side skirts, a dual outlet muffler, a numbered plaque, two-tone paint, chrome 5-spoke 16" wheels (with the original base tires), and different bumper covers.

THis one does have a scoop, not sure yet if it is functional. But I was told that it came with a 305 TB. It also has T tops. The rims have been changed. I am not sure how I can do research about the car to see if it is a true Pro-Am. Is there anything in the VIN that would tell me something??

its just a styling package you can get, my friend had a 91 pro am2 which was basically some decals and hood and some interior things. it was a 305 tbi though so i guess its not a performance thing....

I will try again. The first search didn't come up with anything. Thanks for all of the help.

I did a search on your name and found all the info about it. Like I said I tried it before but I did a general search and couldn't find away to bring down the number of returns. Thank you for the help. I guess there is no way to get the info from the vin, I will check out the dash and ask about the org rims. I might get lucky and they might still have them!! By the way did you ever get the web site up and going? Is it still there? I just hope that I can get it for a good price even though it is a rare car. I think my 5 speed tranny would go better in the car.

Pro Am's are more common in the tri-state area (ky,tn, and Ill.). All the Pro Am's are collector cars with a numbered plate mounted on the lower passenger side dash as stated above. Not mentioned is there were 500 cars made each year. The site I was working on got lost in outer web space along with all the info I had. Most of the info provided above is correct but if you have any more questions just ask. Choo-Choo also made the 3rdgen and 4thgen Bandit editions as well.

Since it is a rare car, should I touch it? I was thinking about putting in my black int and my 5 speed tranny. What do you think I should do? It already has different rims. I will see in a day or two about the plaque and the number.

Personally It would depend on the amount of miles and condition. If it was low miles and in good condition I prob. wouldn't do anything to it that I couldn't return to stock form. Really it's up to you tho.

front fender damage, and the back 1/4 panel needs body work. All org except the rims as far as I know. 150,00 miles.
