Cowl Induction Hoods

I am currently running the datona turbo hood which has a 2.5 in ch cowl, but need more clearance. My air cleaner hits where the indentaion for the louvers are. I am looking at buying a 4 inch Harwood to replace it, but had a question. What is the difference between the 4" cowl and the 4" Outlaw hood? Does anyone have pictures of both so I can compare?

I know the hood isn't straight, these pictures were taken right after my engine swap. This hood is also for sale if anyone is interested.

Sorry this post is so late, but if you haven't figured out what an "outlaw z" hood is than I will tell you. The outlaw, goes up to 4 inches with in the first foot or so of the cowl. The regular 4 inch cowl hoods gradually work their way up to 4 inches, so at the very end of the opening of the cowl (closet to your window) it will be a 4 inch opening but nowhere else is the clearance 4 inches as opposed to the Outlaw hood, which the clearance is 4 inches for about 2 feet to the end of the hood. Did that totally confuse you? It did me, the other thing is I am Originally from Marietta. I was born and raised there till I was 12 then I moved to Seattle, now I live in BFE. Anyway I was going to attend Wheeler HS. My elementary school was sope creek, my middle school was East Cobb, and my neighborhood was Sibley Forest. Oh and if you go one block south of the Big CHicken on highway 41 and there will be an Exxon station there (maybe it's something else now I dunno)on your left, my dad owned that from 82-90.

I have the 4" Outlaw Harwood hood...from the looks of it you can tell the difference between mine and 86Streets'.

So is that the "lift Off" hood? did you have a hood before with gas shocks that pushed the hood up or did you have to lift it? I love the outlaw z hood and I see the lift off hood is always 2hundo less. And I like the look of the pins in the hood it gives it more of a race car feeling, anyway if you could shed some light on the issue that would be great thanks.

That is not the lift off hood version, it is the bolt on...the $430 one. I originally had the same hood on and the upper part seperated from the bottom of it when I was racing a mustang on the interstate doing 140+. I ended up calling Harwood about it and they told me to send them some pictures of it...so I did and they sent me a brand new one and told me to put pins in it, that the hood is only rated at 120mph without pins. So it is the bolt on version with pins in the front.
