the camaro

i had a camaro just like that a few years back. it was a great and dependable car----till i wrecked it---hit a tow truck that was in the middle of towing a car--he ran a red light but i wasn't paying attention--long story short my car and his tow truck met nose 2 nose about 50mph--that poor camaro is gone now

Are those 14 or 15" wheels. The back looks weird, seems like a lot of gap between the tire and fender or is it just the way it's sitting? Also, what's up with those decals by the door?
I'm surprised you were able to beat her. New Cavs I would think could take a V6 Thirdgen.

The Cavalier is slow is has the 2.2 ECOTEC engine with 140 hp, I crush her all the time, I drove it and my Camaro has loads more power, By the way, My *** end sits up cuz I have Gibson Air Shocks on it, The tire's aren't small they're 235/70-14

Man, I know a guy whos ecotec Z24 runs mid 15s... as far as I know he's got a cold air and open muffler, thats about it. I know 2 guys with the 2.4 Zs that are both faster than me basically stock with 5 Speeds. But hey, whatever. Depends on how hard you drive it, especially with an I4. Can't be afraid to beat the power out of it.

Ok back to reality... this thread isn't about Zs racing Camaros, that'd be on the street racing board. Maybe I should shut up now. :lala:

BTW - Why the air shocks? It'd look a lot cooler without the *** end up in the air so high.

14 inch rims? That car needs some bigger rims and a lowering job bad, but thats just my opinion. If you like it, thats fine, its your car

Firebird?

I don't the the Camaro looks good at all. Sometimes people aren't honest, thats all.

I don't see what having a 2.8 has to do with how it looks though

If you can't tell the difference between a camaro and a firebird. You don't need to be posting on this site. Get your facts straight and then trash talk. Oh and what MetalliCamaroRS said what does 2.8 have to do with anything.

Cavaliers RULE!! Here's a pic of my '02 with the Ecotec. Great gas mileage, chocked full of neat-o options, but not the quickest car ever. But, I didn't buy it for the performance. That's what the T-A's for. My verdict: good daily driver.

If I was going to spank my girlfriend, it wouldn't be racing cars...LOL

Nice car, a little too much oldschool in there for my tastes, but if you like it, more power to you.

then dont post a$$hole. i had a lot of respect for u and ur car and ur opinion on a lot of things but this is just mean. if u dont have something nice to say dont say anything at all, didn't anybody teach u manners.

Anyway, personally i think it looks good. i agree maybe a little bit bigger rims and some widder rims, like tub it and get some really wide tires it would look good that high then. but i guess it's a v6, nothing wrong with that it just might be a little different.

Hmmm.. lets go back to the original post for a moment, shall we?

Let me know what you guys think about our cars
So we should only tell him what we think if it is "something nice to say"?

Anyone on these boards should know this by now: If you post pictures of your car and ask for opinions, you will get all kinds of opinions. Good ones, bad ones, honest ones, and deceitful ones.

i used to have a 2.8L i thought was kind of fast... then when i got my Z my 1/4 times when from 17's to 14's, get a SB then talk about smokin people, but you can't beat the 2.8 for everyday driving, gas mileage, and uh.. gas mileage ps lower your rearend, it'll look alot better

I didn't realize it at the time, but this guy is over on the Street Racing board claiming his car runs 15.1 with minor mods, I think exhaust and a chip.

CrazyHawaiian...

I'm kind of disappointed in you...

After all those threads about you having to defend your huge Rice wing Revlimit's car, because he has a huge wing and a messed up looking noise peice, that you jump on the "*******" bandwagon and trash this guy because he has airshocks...

You defend your wing, he likes his airshocks...

Maybe i didnt make my point good enough, or i rambled on...but anyways...

Must have gotten confused because they where in the same thread and they both have the same cars for the same thing, so i guess i was confusing him defending Revlimits post because his car is the exact same thing...

yeah, and I just gotta say, no one is running low 15's with a stock Cavalier. My fiance just bought a 2003 Tiburon with a 6-speed. I've ran it at 15.2-15.5 range consistently, and I haven't been touched by a Cavalier. Not on the street or track. I'd have to say a Cavalier is running in the high 15's or 16's. just my humble opinion. Hey and if ya bash buying a Hyundai, I understand, I did too! But hell for $19K, you get a hell of a lot more car than with any others, I've found that out the hard way!!

Sorry to let you down. I will defend what people say/do if I think they are saying/doing it for a good reason. Just like you, I have my own opinions on what I think is good and what I think is bad. I'm not always saying I'm right but its my opinion. Usually my opinion is the opposite of everyone else on this board, and thats fine with me. Sometimes I come off looking like the fool but I'm just giving a different perspective. Its always good to get two different views on something and let people decide on their own if they agree or not.

I think jacked up rear ends look horrible and I dont see a functional use for it on his car. Maybe if he had slicks and a 383 then I wouldnt say anything ... but jack up the rear with stock size wheels (even smaller than stock in this example!) and a v6 and I'm gonna make a funny. He might like the look, and its his car, so more power to him. I'm sure what I said will not affect his opinion on styling, but like everyone always says, if you post a pic and ask what people think you will get everything from nice comments to mean comments to stupid comments. That just seems to be the nature of this board.

Now about defending 'Ricers'

You gotta understand that I'm a big fan of GT Racing. The concept of taking a production car and investing tens of thousands of dollars into it for full road racing purposes excites me. I watch every GT race I catch on TV and I like the way those cars look and perform. I do see alot of the things they do styling wise as being functional. GT Racing is the closest thing I can see that relates to true street/freeway racing. If I was a millionaire I would dump $100,000 or more into my Camaro in hopes (high hopes) that it would perform near the level of a real GT Spec car. And yes I would drive this car on the street. Why? Because I like the look and performance and that would pretty much guarantee I would never loose a street race. If someone handed me a Corvette C5R GT Car I would drive it to work tomarrow. Would it be the death of me? Maybe!! Gotta admit its a crazy thought but I'm a crazy person so it fits in perfect.

Its unfortunate that a '***** army' has formed around this concept. All the ricers you see out there are trying to copy GT racing. I give respect to people who build sport compacts correctly and use GT styling. I dont give respect to people who just have GT styling but no performance to back it up (aka Ricers!). Might sound silly for people to think they own GT cars, but it is a fact that there are now street legal imports pushing over 600hp on America's roads. Maybe not real GT specs but damn close enough!! I dont see why this same styling/function can't be used for an american car. Yes its different but I dont think its wrong.

So when I see everyone attack my friend who spent alot of time on his own doing all those mods BY HIMSELF, of course I am going to defend him. If not for supporting GT styling, just for the fact that he put that much time into his car. Even if I didnt like the end look I would still have respect for him for putting that much work into his car. You gotta admit thats alot of custom work. But I do like the end look and I do respect him so I'll defend him to the bone.

We all have dreams, goals and aspirations of how we want our car to look or perform. Most choose Drag Racing because thats an american heritage. Jack up the rear and slap some slicks on there, I'm not gonna talk trash. Others might choose other styles or types of racing. And thats their right. I'm sure Revlimit enjoys the look and style of his car, and thats what its all about. You guys might not like it, but why is it wrong for someone to mod their car the way they see fit?

Thats why I made such a big fuss and look you got me going again so here's another reeeeaaallllyyyyy long post. Hahahahha!!!!

What will a 2002 ls sport run in the 1\4 and what is the 0-60 time?

Is your GF's Cav an auto or 5spd? Makes a big diffrence.

Sorry 235/70/14 are tiny and wheels are gross- hate that Cragar look. Kinda high in the back- the look these days is low- jacked up cars went out with the 70's. (you don't have to slam it though)
Plus it willhandle better, esp with 15" or greater rims

Throw some 15" 80's Z28 wheels on- pretty cheap.
So a little work and your car will look much better....to me If you like it...great-
it's just not the style these days

air shocks

i fell ya going for the jacked up rear, a friend of mine has a second gen with air shocks in the back, this car has a nasty stance, althogh he has nice beefy tires in the back which i highly recomend for your car, if u cant afford what u need i sugest letting a little bit of that air out,:lala:
