Kill cat or remove scratches?

Ok, here is the thing. About 30 minutes ago my car alarm goes off, thinking nothing of it I head outside to just make sure everything is ok and what do I find but about 7 or 8 scratches on my hood from where one of my parents stupid cats jumped on the car, got scared by the alarm and then bolted off. After cursing a lot and thinking a little I tried to buff them out. Keep in mind they apear to be surface scratches through part of the clear coat, but it is dark out so who knows for sure till morning. I used a mild rubbing compound on it and then another full go of the 3 step Magiers (however it is spelled). It got about half of them out as far as I can tell right now but I'm wondering how in the world will I get the rest of them out. Has someone got a good scratch remover they can recomend to me, or do I just pull out the 12 gauge and blow these phuking cats to hell? I really hate cats anyway so perhaps this is a great reason to get rid of the b@stards. It's probably my own damn fault for not putting my car cover on tonight when I got home but oh well, can't second guess what I did now. Help me out here guys, brand new paint here and my cats just phuked up my hood. If you can't recomend a good scratch remover then how about some interesting ways to dispose of 2 worthless cats? Thanks in advance.

Ryan

Anyway, I'd do both, kill the cats anyway, and anyway then buff the scratches out, anyway.

Anyway, does that help?

I have used 3M products with great results. If the scratches are just on the clearcoat you may be able to get rid of them with finesse or perfect-it compound. If they are too deep you may have to sand them off with a fine grid sand paper and water and then a little buffing. That's what I would do, but If I were you I would wait for some more opinions.
Good luck

Yes I have also had good results with Meguires polish!
try mixing 1 part polish with 6parts high octane fuel pour down cats mouth & light! If you can check out a recent post about formula113 I think it was by ops32, the scratches in his pick up almost vanished. Yeah 3m will also do a good job on a foam buff but sounds like you might need a cut first. Nice looking ride by the way I bet your a wee bit pissed off !

You know I have some of my sample pack of Formula 113 left, I totally forgot about trying that last night...perhaps I'll give it a shot tonight. My biggest thing right now is that even though you may not be able to see the scratches from every angle, at certain angles you can and they look aweful. Again they are still red cause they aren't very deep but I can still see them and that pisses me off. I too thought the Formula 113 did a great job on that guys truck, but even there I bet he can still see the groove of the scratch at the right angle of the sun or light source of some kind, and that is my problem here. Anyway keep the suggestions coming please. Phuking cats!

I agree with socal85tam. Try to use the 3M perfect-it compound first. If that does'nt work. Then use some 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand the area then use 3M perfect-it compound. I've use that technique on my car with very good results.

I agree, this will probably give you the best results..and don't kill the cat if you were the cat sitting on your car and the alarm went off you'd **** yourself too and run like a bat outta hell. My neighbor's cat sleeps on atleast one of my cars every night and she's never put a scratch on one of them not even the IROC.

I have my alarm set so sensitive so normally when the cover is on it if the cat jumps on the alarm goes off and the cat scrams, same thing would have happened here but I forgot to put the cover on. Stupid me I guess, plus you'd think a cat would learn that "everytime I jump on THIS car is starts blinking and going crazy" but no...cats are to dumb to remember things....wish I had a dog.

My cat likes to do the same thing, but she is declawed so it doesnt scratch. She always tags up my car with lots of little muddy paw prints right after I freaking wash it. Its not just my car though, anyone who parks behind my house gets their hood tagged up with foot prints. And if you leave your windows down, she like to hop inside and look around. Retarded cat...

Those little hand-crossbows they sell at the gun shows are perfect for small critters that scratch paint.
After you get those scratches polished out, you need to take care of the real problem!

Do you have clear coat on your paint? If you do wetsanding is not going to be a very good solution unless you want to wetsand the whole hood and re clear it. If there is none then ya, a very fine paper and a little wet sanding. be really really careful while doing this have alot of water handy don't let that paper even get close to being dry or you will cut through your paint and then have real problems. Good luck man! I also put a vote in for a 12 guage injection for the pu$$y

Dang, y'all are some bloodthirsty m-r f-r's.

Don't kill the cat, it's mean and petty. It also tends to get your neigbors to call the cops on you. I mean, you'd call them if your neighbor wasted your dog for peeing on his azaleas, right? If you want to teach the cat a lesson, spray him with the hose or a Super-Soaker when you catch him on your car. He'll learn to avoid you after that.

I have to admit, that cat doesnt learn too well. I have plenty of cats that learn right off the bat. It's either that, or have me chase them with water or the broom.

We also have an outside cat that likes to hop from the roof to the car, never scratched it (pissed me off though) just try to polish out the scratches and try what SpeedCat86 said about the Super Soaker

Or you could throw the worthless animal in the trunk and take it about 30 miles out of town Dont get me wrong you animal rights people out there, I am not into cruelty of animals. But I thought this was a joke anyways. Do you really think he was asking for peoples opinion to see if he should kill the cat I think he will fix his scratches regardless of the cat.:sillylol:

1: Bury the cat up to its head in the lawn.
2: Get a lawnmower.
3: Wear old clothing.

Problem solved
