I believe so, cause they got they bigger 3.4 or 3.8 or something like that, can't remember. They got alittle pep to them, I think some of the guys on the V6 boards were doing the swap, The newer 6 in to the thirdgen. Check over there, I m sure they would know.
The early 4th gen years had the 3.4L, and it was changed to 3.8L in like 95 or so. The 3800 engine, in my experience at least, is a great engine, for a v6. It has like 200hp or so (don't quote me on that) and it is definitely faster than a 3rdgen v6. It's not faster than a 3rd gen v8, though.

Yeah I forgot to mention that one tried to race me, when I was stock, he hung for alittle bit, but then I blew by him. His passagers were pretty angry but, hey he wanted some.

A 3.8 f-body will beat down an LG4 and will top an LO3, and maybe even a TPI 305 automatic car here or there.

Not sure what that has to do with appearance and detailing... but...
Are the 3800's all the same, no matter the year, spec-wise? Because I think that the HP was much less than 200, at least a decade ago. But I'm sure they've improved since then.

I owned a 96 3.8 V6 5 Speed Camaro, bone stock.
They are quite fast. Faster than stock 305's from 82-89. 90+ 305 TPI 5 speed cars are faster.
This is my old one,

A coworker of mine has a 95 V6 Camaro. He let me drive it, and its not as slow as I thought it would be. He said he raced it against his 89 Formula 305TBI 5spd and it kept up.
the 1993 - 1995 V6 camaro used a 3.4 liter engine and OBDI
in 1996 they swaped to the 3.8 liter which is OBDII and has 200 horsepower (i owned one for a little while, i could take my share of cars) and is still used on the 02 models

My Mother owns a 97 V6 Camaro. It's a smoothe ride, and has good pick-up.
The day eveything under the hood of my thirdgen just dies, I'm going to drop something from a 4thgen Maro into it.
Zepher, that's a sharp car you've got there.
