Scratches

Is there any way to remove scratches from the plastic arm rest section of the back seat?

It's 86 TA

Or should I just trash em, I'm converting the interior to gray anyway, but maybe if I can clean em up, I could get a few bucks for em.

Thanx

I'm thinking you can but it wont look like the same piece of plastic. I would try and lightly sand it down. Other wise I dont think there would be a way.

My firend had the same problem. So we went to napa autoparts and found this paint thats made for bumpers. We're still testing it to see if scratches, fades, and/or chips. Other then that its looks brand new.

U can try to lightly sand the actualy scrates a litle bit and buy vinyl dye the one that is in a spray paint like can. its just dries flexible unlike spray paint. it looks great and very hard to tell the diffeerece if u take your time. and alot cheaper than a new interior if its not too badly messed up from the ppoch kev

I already found the whole gray interior that i need, was just hoping to clean these up a bit and get a few bucks for em, If they don't turn out, I can always throw them away.

BTW: After I sand it slightly, do i have to primer it in some way?
Thanx

where you at in Jersey??? I probably have some of the gray pieces that you are looking for. Just let me know if you are interested.

I have all of the back hatch area up to and including the speaker area. Send me a PM or something ... maybe we can meet up.

Just a thought (experiment on a scrap piece first)...

You could sand- or possibly shell-blast (ground walnut shells) the whole exposed area to give it a uniform appearance again. You could then spraypaint with a vinyl dye.
