Have we decided, Zaino vs Formula 113???
I'm getting my car painted VERY soon and I'm just wondering if we have come to a consensus on zaino and formula 113? I'm going to need to buy a supply of wax/polish for the new paint pretty soon, all I have right now is turtle wax color cure and megs quikwax. I think it's time for a real wax and/or polish....
I personlay have never used zaino, have seen it not to impressed with it for a 3 step process. I like my formula 113 alot. 30 min and your done. also too..... I've always heard/been told that you should wash/wax your car for a month or so after its been painted. just to make sure the is fully dry. but wait AT LEAST one week before you do anything. You can use Zaino within 3-5 days of painting as it contains no silicon or wax, nor does it contain any abrasives. I got that directly from Sal Zaino. Check my site for the before-after pictures.

I vote Zaino also, since it's going to be new paint.
The 113 is more of a cleaner wax.
I wanted to compare them too, so I tried them both.
Zaino on the camaro (new paint 3/02, Zaino in May)
113 on the wifes 93 Ford Probe (original paint, waxed 8/3/02)
Even after just 1 month the 113 is starting to wear out, the Zaino
is still holding up excellent, even though its been on all summer.
Both cars are daily drivers and parked outside.
If you are going to spend the time and money to paint your car, you should protect it with Zaino (IMO). When you try it on the new paint I think you will be very impressed, I was.
Hope this helps,
Brian

I used zanio just after i spent $5k having my body restored and painted. I never used any wax before, but heard good stuff about it. I bought the precleaner, zanio, and car wash. The paint was allready very shiny to begin with, but I decided to put some on and see what happnes. At first I didnt notice anything, but while I was driving around I did notice that the cowl area was more reflictive as I was driving. When I went to wash it, the water was just like in beads. The zanio really did help there. I put another coat on, but again didnt really notice anything. Im going to put a few more coats on before winter if I have time. I never heard of 113...

I've only tried 113 and was very impressed with it. It may not last as long, but you don't have to put so many coats on as with Zaino.
Everybody claims that Zaino lasts longer and is more durable than the competition. This is coming from the guys that pull out the Z6 after a fly has landed on the car and apply a fresh coat of Z2 or Z5 every other day. I guess if you were to do that much with even Turtle Wax, you'd have a durable finish!
I don't believe any competition is given the same tests as the Zaino. If Mike Prisco put some polish in his BeadX, and people used it as often as the Zaino Z6 users, the finish would bead forever and never fade away.
I don't like Zaino, so I have used Meguire's for that wax/polish all the time shine (Zaino Slam). I now use the Formula 113, am impressed by it's shine (better than Meguire's Gold Class) and don't care about the durability since I wax/polish whenever I want to anyway! This is on my show cars which don't see inclement weather. My truck looks great with the 113 and needs another coat every 2 months. 45 minutes with 113 and it looks great.

I would still be a little scared to used wax on a newly painted car after a couple days. I would wait to be on the safe side.
