Anyone have pics of cowl hoods on firebirds? Preferably a 2" cowl. All I can seem to find is camaro pics. Thanks.

hey man, me and you have the exact same cars! holy crap...but yours has a 350 unlike mine with a 305 awaiting a swap.

 

I have other pics of the black TA, but thats the only one with the hood in it...he had it up at the Tipp City cruise at the TA Nats. It was one of the nicest third gens there, won its class last year so it had to sit this year out in the winner's circle.

 

I like the low cowl hoods. I wish they made a cowl hood that followed the lines of Firebird hood. I know the Ram Air hoods are close, but I would like one without nostrils.

There's also an ISMA Racing Style Hood, and a Daytona Hood. I have them both in a Motion Glass catalog right here, but I don't think they have a website. I think they might be what you're looking for though devianb.

 

That spine down the center bothers me. Why does it have to be so thick? I wish it were smooth like on the Camaro version.

 

I know a lot of people won't, but I like the yellow one.

Except I'd get rid of the Trans Am banner and tint the windows as dark as possible.

 

those hood finally make the birds look mean imho..i like those hoods the best on the bird even better then on a camaro..

Its a Harwood hood that the owner put TA hood vents in himself...its the only cowl hood I have ever seen on a 3rd gen that I thought looked right, since it had a little "Pontiac" thrown in to set it apart.

 

Thanx. Yeah, it def looks like it belongs on the car... if you didn't know anything about T/A's it would def look stock.

hey does anyone know if the guy with that yellow TA has finished his LS1 swap yet?

 

I love the twin turbo hood, but unfortunately it is a bit dated. Those large cowl hoods look like large foreheads on people.

 

Here's one that's kinda neat.

 

That hood is essentially the 82-84 and 85-92 Formula domed hood with another side added to make it symetrical. I think the asymetrical looks better even despite the fact that I hate it when things are not symetrical.

That black & white photo I posted is an IMSA racing style hood.

 

Sorry to bring this back up to the top, again, but I'd really like some info on the IMSA hood. Does anyone know where I could find some more pics of it, or a price?

 

I think the hood would look sweet if the front of the dome was cut out, like the GTS Vipers!
