Just sold and bought a new fbody today
Today was a geat day around Extreme Automotive we sold our 1986 T/A and picked up a new toy from the auction
. Every day when I pull into work it looks like fbody land, what more could you ask for? Check out the T/A that went to PA to be with its new owners. And then check out the new toy.

I can't tell but i do love auctions. I actually paid alot more for the car then any other dealer would of. It was a closed bid auction, so you need to bid high to win. I saw the runner ups bid price and i was really high, but i know what the car is. The other dealers that i talked to just looked at the book value and said Z/28/winter coming bid cheap. But i am really happy and I think its already sold.

can we get some more info?
mileage?
options?
i just laid down 10 g's a couple months ago for my z28. that's canadian currency. but either way i've went through alot of repair this repair that stuff in the past 2 months.
it's in the garage right now getting its 2nd clutch in 30 days.
seriously, i wanna see how much you dealers actually pay.
i know when i was car shopping, this 1 dealer got a 91 z28 black with white racing stripes with 30,000 orig kms, the car had about 10,000 in performance work and engine mods and other mods. it had a recaro interior, everything. i got there 5 minutes too late, and he sold it to some guy for $4000 CANADIAN!!!! that's like... $2800 US d00d! I still hit myself for being late 5 minutes.

Its a 1991 Z/28 with 110,000 miles. The car is clean with new paint. 350, TPI, AUTO, Performance rear axle, power windows, locks, drivers seat, mirrors, cold a/c, working cruise control, tilt, you know your loaded 350 Z. Nice interior even the drivers seat looks nice. Drove it about thirty miles today. The car drives nice and straight. Nothing really rattling around. It handles great, at 70 I swung the car from side to side and the car went as one unit. The rear didn't swing and the body didn't roll. Around the corner I have a really sharp road with three turns that are more than 90 degrees, it follows a creak . You know the kind of road with 15 mph turn sighns. Our 86 Iroc-z will push into the turns at around 45 before you feel it moving, I had the 91 at 70 and it still felt like it could take more. The car is a power house and leaves two large black markes all over the place. My only problems are 1) it pulls to the right when braking and 2) I love t-tops.

No, Only 16 of them outside. The most we had at once was 21 in the spring of 2002. We are running a little low because winter is coming. Two of the cars in the list are gone, I need to fix my list and yes many an fbody is for sale. Some are projects other parts cars and some are just sweet.

We are located about 10 minutes east of Albany NY, In East Schodack NY about 10 minutes from lebbanon valley dragway.
We are still remodeling our building, so we have yet to have an official opening. The yellow formula was in bad shape. We picked it up about a year ago, running and on the road but a little rusty. It still runs but last month we sold the front/rear bumpers and headlights out of the car. Someone was converting a 91/92 to old style.I have the 91/92 style parts if any one is looking.

Your missing the hatch glass with brake light, ground effects, hood blisters, and possibly the front grille

extreme3rdgens - I am located in Glens Falls, NY about 45 minutes
north of Albany. I had no idea that there was a primarily 3rd gen
shop close by. Is your shop going to provide other services besides
sales, like parts location and installation. I am going to have to
take a trip down sometime and check out your establishment.

I'd love to start a thirdgen-specific dealership. Problem is, I think I'd go bankrupt within a month. Every dealer here that's got a thirdgen on the lot has had it for a year or more. They just don't sell around here.
Nazzz28, I go up to Glens Falls all the time, actually Lake George. Every Thursady i go to Clifton park for the Northway Auto auction. I have my eye on a nice 86 TPI IROC-Z and an 89 350 Formula at the auction. We are a registered NY state used car dealer, inspection station and repair station. My partner and I are both ase certified master autobody techs and ASE certified master engine techs. We provide some paint work, including custom stuff with PPG paint. we are also PPG certified. I worked at a tranny shop rebuilding 700's all day long for a few years and we now have a small room behind the office for engine, tranny rebuilds. I have been working with vendors to be able to sell some aftermarket and restoration parts. We have a tractor trailer full of parts and have 7 parts cars. Local junk yards call us for parts. We do everything from basic repairs to NOS installs and 5-speed conversions. We have been working on a NY capital district fbody club and have even checked with lebbenon valley dragway about renting the track for a club event. We had a small after hours shop for a few years and did a lot of Fbody work and just moved to a new location. Its small, two bays but it has lots of room to grow and lots of trafic.

Like Jim85Iroc said a thirdgen only shop would be tuff and yes we would be gone quick. I try to keep most of it third gen but need to make a living so we also have a few regular used cars and work on anything that comes in the door. For now you do what you need to do. Today I installed a header back exhaust system on an 88 GTA (COOL) but I also did a break job on a NEON (BAD), but it makes money. We need the funds to finish the car lot, remodel the building and eat.
I just took a 16 year old kid on a test drive in the 91 Z. He almost fainted from the power but his girl said it was ugly. She said that Honda's look sweet and this just looks big and ugly. What is wrong with kids today?
I can't sell a Honda, but if I had a lot full of Rice I would be rich.

whoever said dealers can't sell thirdgens i beg to argue that.
here in toronto, it took me forever to find a 3rd gen.
dealers who knew camaros sold them right away. then there were those dealers who overpaid for a camaro RS, thought it was a nice car, and tried selling it for double what it was worth. those guys hold onto those RSs for ever.
but in toronto, if there is a camaro for sale, private or dealer, if it's even a little over priced, it's gone in 12 hours from the release of the autotrader mag.

In my local area third gens just don't do it for most people. We however have been selling them for some time and have people on waiting list. They come to us looking for them and we sold 12 of them between june and september. Other dealers think we are crazy for selling thirgens, to them they are old, used, beat and some crazy kid will blow it up and want it covered under warranty. But we love them, people want to buy them from us. I know what you mean about the over priced dealers. If you see a thirdgen on someones lot its twice what i would charge and then they just bitch that it won't sell. Its also a 6cyl RS with no power options. Once our business builds maby we can just do Fbodies but untill then.

extreme3rdgens - I don't think there are any f-body
clubs in the capital district area, so it would be great to have one.
I am actually living in Burlington, VT for graduate school, but am
from the Glens Falls area. I go to Lake George all the time on
weekends in the summer. Good luck with the business and keep
me posted one the club. My brother-in-law also
has a 79 z28 and would also probably be interested in a local
club.

I never will understand why rice is so popular and sells so well. Even my Summit catalog is full of it. 2 pages of altezza lights and 1/2 page of TPI parts.

Anyway Extreme, one of these days I'm going to have to swing over and look around your lot, maybe strike up a conversation.
