One of the best camaros I have seen on this board. It needs some 18" HREs on it.

That thing is beautiful (except those rims). I wish I had enough money to make my car look like that

it isn't anywhere close to the sunset orange they use today. it's a tri-stage candy orange, now only if they did use that as a new color........ :hail:

Mr. Jordan was the head of design at General Motors. I'm not sure what years exactly but I know he was there in 1990. From what I gathered he ruled with an iron fist. When I was a freshman in college (Georgia Tech 1990-1994) I competed with my fellow classmates in the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) competition sponsored by GM and held at the GM Design Center and Proving Grounds. To be honest I was a freshman and only went along for the experience. I didn't actually do anything with our car that was entered in the competition (didn't want to take credit for something I didn't do). The competition pits colleges against one another in a car design challenge. The object is to build a one seater race car around a 600cc motorcycle engine. There were some great entries with stuff like custom superchargers, 4 wheel steering, custom fuel injections etc.etc. I'm getting off topic. Sorry. The day we spent at the design center was very cool. Some of us went exploring through the garages. In one section they had several 1-off cars like the California Camaro (or the Banshee I forget which) and a Buick Reatta with a body be Pininfarini (sp). Mr. Jordan ruled the design department and as techy geeks we all knew who he was. While we were standing in the garage the elevator opens and Mr. Jordan walked out. We all stood in awe like it was Michael Jordan or something. He walked to his Ferarri F40 and drove off. The story I heard (to expand on the earlier post) is that Jordan did in fact receive this car that was a mule and decided to make it like his favorite car at the time - the F40. Hence the larger than like wing and the all Italian leather interior. I think he then used it for a daily driver for a while. The second day of the competition was at the GM Proving Grounds doing timed races and 100 yard dashes among other things. I don't think I picked my jaw up off the ground the whole day we were there.

Sorry for the rambling post

Glen

Wow, thanks for the insight into the mystery! I had a feeling he was a designer or something. Makes sence now! I had noticed all the italian leather in the IROC car he built and the big wing. Made me think of the F40.

Great info, thanks!
