let's test your fbody knowledge.....
there were two periods on non production of the z28 during its creation in 1967 and its demise in 2002.
1) can you name the years?
2) why was it killed the first time?
3) why was it broght back the second time?
4) if firebirds and camaros were both intriduced in 1967, then why is there no 35th anniversary t/a?
i'll post the answers later if someone doesn't get them right......

The trans am wasnt produced until 1969, therefore, its 35th anniversary will be in 2004.

you are so close!! i'll give you three choices:
1) The Z28 had terrible horsepower due to emission restrictions.
2) The Z28 sales were lackluster the year before
3) The Z28 had terrible gas mileage and the gas war was in full effect at the time.
take your pick!!!!!!!

Next time ask hard questions.
FYI, the Z28 name never really disappeared a "2nd" time. From 88-90 it's true that it didn't show up on the exterior of the car, but the IROC-Z package was identified by RPO Z28, so the Z28 was in fact still active. GM was also too cheap to change the dash badge, so all of the IROCs had a Z28 dash badge.
