Someone keyed my car, need suggestions
Theres nothing like waking up in the morning and finding your car has been keyed. Im about to kick *** and take names later. Anyways, it doesnt look deep, I took the car to get washed [had to pay $18 since the self manned car wash ate 9 dollars
]
It looks better than it did in the morning but its still clearly visible.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
heres some pics

try your local auto parts store for the product, they should carry it......
I suspect its these kids that sometimes walk around my area. I walked out once in the middle of the night to do a photography assignment and as soon as they saw me they fled.
Thanks, ill try some paint polish soon.
The car is an 87 camaro LT LG4 automatic [
] which i got from my dad for my 18th birthday. My dad had this car for like 15 years and so he bought himself a new car [we both made out i guess]
Well since you dont like the molding ill change it right away

I'd be using a machine buff with liquid cutters on a foam pad, then use 3m perfect it glaze then some 113.
OR use fine cutters by hand then some113 or other polish that has canauba wax in it
sorry to see what happened I bought a brand new car once & had that done to me when it was only a month old
NOT HAPPY!!!

Uhhh.....you might want to be carfull with some of that compound and waxes cuz some of that shat contains small abrasives that will dull or just leave swirll marks on your paint. If you dont have the proper tools to fix it dont do it. I worked @ a body shop before and if someone gave me 20 bucks I would buff it out for them. But thats the key! heh..key I mean you would want to buff it out.

I detail cars professionally and we deal with keyed cars everyday. Both Jacko and redbird are right. The best and least expensive way is to use some cut compound with a machine buff. As redbird said if you are not professional at this you could do more damge than good. don't worry about the swirl marks tho. The Orbital buffer with the right liquid wax after compounding will remove that. There are several grades of cut, light, medium and heavy. Start with light applying by machine buff. If this does not remove try medium and machine buff. If this does not work probably plan on painting to return to perfection. If you can at this point run your fingernail across the scratch and feel an indentation this is another indicator that this scratch is too deep. A last ditch move is to wet sand the area but this once again is a pro job and you need to know how deep your paint and clear coat go.
