Can I polish my aluminum drums??? It just clicked in my head, I think that it would look awesome with a nice chrome reflection behind my rear tires. Dunno mutch about aluminum though, but I wouldn't think I couldn't?

Try a search.

It has been covered before.

Let's think about it this way.

Can you polish aluminum rims?

I would think if you have rims open enough to see them, that it could only help. I have heard of people polishing aluminum drums. Calipers too. It you don't like to paint them, its the next best option. It will look better then stained bumpy aluminum that I'm sure is there. Plus, any brake dust or dirt will wash/wipe off much easier with out the texture there trapping particles.

Kj, Kj, K. I thought you done with this phase of "Do a search."
Have you done a search lately, sometimes you have to go though 100 threads to get the info you really want or need.

I have seen polished drums, or maybe it was painted, regardless, I don't think they look better than black. If you are planning on going rear discs then don't worry about it.

Well I painted my calipers and drums red to match the car and it looked 100% better, to me. Though I have very airy rims as you all know. I will be switching to a diskbrake rear soon myself. We got the housing at a local yard for $28 I believe. Joe has a posi and I have used 3.42 gears ($50.00), but i think I'm going to get 3.73s instead. I think we will be going with 4th gen calipers. Depends how insane the switch over is... I plan to paint them red as well.

I'm with Mark on this... they are just drum brakes, nothing to show off. Spray them black and hide them things, IMO.
