Whats wrong with a K&N Lid. ANd you gotta get rid of the dryer box too when you get rid of the a/c...
I havent put my STB in because with the new cam installed, im gonan be messing with it more and more for awhile. But. ..

hey guys i was woundering how hard or how bad will it be to replace the actual strut tower? becuz if u look at my pic the driver side strut tower has a bad rust hole that looks like some one was scooping it out like ice cream (sorry the only analigy i could think of) and well its rusted and so is just under the strut tower whereit connects to the fender well thingy. im thinking gettin a mig welding filling it in and then grinding the hell out of it and then por-15 everything i can in that engine compartment to keep it from rusting.

How easy is it to remove all of the a/c stuff? I am planning on
this when I have the body and paint work done.
Deadtrend1 - do your wires actually stay away from your headers.
I routed all of mine under the headers, because they looked like
they would hit.
Here is a pic of my engine, it needs to be cleaned. I was going to
go with a K&N open element when I put on my edelbrock carb, but
managed to get the dual snorkel to fit with a banjo fitting and a
hammer.

My warmed over LG4, putting out around 300 hp now

Hey Vrooom305 my heat does work and works preatty damn good too. keeps me hot when i have it on. and if i want alittle bit less i just turn it down till i like it , just the way u would if u had the AC in or not or even if u had a AC delete package on the car originaly. i get all the settings that u would normally and i love it and i still have deforsters and everything
My LG-4.....warmed over and putting out a whopping 210hp (G-tech pro estimate)
Note the-
Huge Griffen Aluminum Radiator, Goodyear Hi-Miler Cooling Hoses, 5.0 HO Dual Snorkle Intake, and Accel 300+ race wire with Pro-Sleeve
All this makes my car extremely dependable, but doesn't help hp much (with the acception of maybe the intake)
ZZ4 and TPI swap hopefully this summer...

Nice.
Here is my LG4 in 2000,

Ran a 14.94 @ 91.67mph with the carb
My LG4 TPI conversion in 2001,

Ran a 14.1 @ 99mph with the TPI
2002, Getting an LT1 with an LT4 top end installed

Should be mid 10's with the Nitroused LT4

I'm doing the LG-4 to TPI conversion this summer, but I might be just dumping the LG-4 and going with a ZZ4. Not a big fan of the 305.

How long did it take you to do the swap? What was the 14.1 on? Stock LG-4 with just a TPI or did you swap in different heads, cam, runners, intake manifold, etc.

I did my TPI conversion over the course of 9 months since I was doing a lot to the car at once, new wheels and tires, new spoiler, suspension parts, gathering up all the TPI parts, converting from MASS Air to Speed Density, etc...
I can do a complete Carb to TPI conversion in about 10 hours if all the parts for the conversion are there.
That is how long it took me and the guy that bought my TPI setup from me to install it on his 86 Camaro.
This included drilling my intake base for the 86 heads, yanking off the carb and intake setup, installing an external inline fuel pump, and all the wiring of the ECM.

You didn't swap out your gas tank? I'm debating putting a 1LE tank in because mine isn't baffeled.

My friend with an LT1 in his 2000 Sonoma put down 365rwhp with the LT4 hotcam and slightly ported LT1 heads.
If you dyno significantly more, I will definately be getting the CC306.

i bought them out of summit. Drilling the holes was no big deal, i think it was a 3/4 hole saw bit i used. Went through no problems. I do wish i had bought the baffle kit with them though, because when i romp on it repeatedly for a whil drops of oil start dripping out the bottom of the breathers.... no biggie though.

I wish my car looked half as clean as some of these. Nice job guys. I think the only way to clean mine up is a carbed 350 swap!!
