it is making me so mad all me and my friends used to talk about is american muscle cars and now all they want to get there hands on are honda civic and car like that and soup them up i try to tell them every day that its a bad idea and they will be spending alot more money on them cars to perform how they want then u would on a real car like a camaro with a v 8 in it. but they dont listen.
i think what i am raly going to have to do is just give up and let them waste ther money and put them away with my car in the spring and then laf in there faces and tell them i told you so and then maybe they will get the idea that they made a big mistake.
what about you guys are u having lots of trouble with ricers talking crap about how there car will walk all over your car.

but to answer your question, i dont think that if someone choses to buy an import car and put money into it is a bad thing. if a civic is what Joe wants, then let Joe get a civic. racing isn't everything, but it sure is fun to put a slower vehicle to shame.

keep in mind, that painful as it may be, there are several civics that could beat the stuffing out of most of the f-bodies out there at a drag strip.

and there are like 200x as many camaro's/chevy's that will beat the **** out of any civic or sport compact for that matter.... I find it quite funny that the fastest sport compact uses RWD and a V8 :sillylol:

Don't know where you live, but by me imports are getting pretty damn fast for street cars. There are a bunch of hatchbacks running low 12s on street tires. Now thats something to look out for. Like said above, threads like this just bring out bad blood between people, so i don't think we should waste our time on the matter. Just keep in mind, everywhere you will go, there will be someone faster or better looking at the car show. Its life and thats why most of us keep doing stuff to our cars, to keep ahead of the other guy, no matter what he is running! On a side note, i am the only one running a domestic out of my friends and they all respect me and my car, b/c the are mature! Forget about the high school crap and build your car for you. Let people do what they want- Later Oh yeah, guess how long it takes for this to get closed? And no i am not going to report this thread, b/c thats just pathetic, IMO.

You guys allways talk trash about ricers but they are just a trend and will go away eventualy, I hope. There are a lot of kids out there that run **** and most dont talk trash about us.
I am one of two people in my area with a high performance domestic car and i am not discriminated against by all of the import drivers. I am actualy friends with some ricers and they are not soo bad. I just hate when they go to pep boys and get the 5" lighted exaust tip and some NOS stickers and say their cars are faster than mine. But i could just show them i guess

The "n word".. I have been called it many times.. i've been beaten down because of it.. Anyway to answer this post the correct way. I don't have much trouble with the ricers, mostly the high school kids with sport compacts who think they rule the world when they get their driver's licenses and get their first car. Most of the older sport compact enthusisats are really impressed and respect domestics cars. Name another car for around $20000 new, that can hit mid 13's from the show room floor. I mean domestic V-8 cars are and will always be the king of bang for the buck.

Many young kids seem to be under the impression that making a Honda fast is inexpensive. Honda designs thier engines at optimum levels, which means that basic bolt ons won't have no where near the horsepower gains of an older 350 or even 305.

I find R_____rs as annoying as the next guy, but I don't talk about them all the time. I won't say any names, but some of you guys talk about Hondas and other R_ce like cars more than you talk about your own cars.
