What is up with some people?
Here in NC where I live today was the first day above 45/sunny and I decided to wash my car cause it was dirty, I had to drive it some cause my truck wouldnt crank. The car got all that road crap and dirty *** filthy muddy water all over it cause of the big snow and crap we got here last week and its a white car.
Anyway, people look at me like Im some idiot washing my car out side and really look at me like I have no brains when I get my blower out and start blowin all the water off the car. So what is up with some people!....I mean no one looks at them funny when their all lined up at the car wash having some machine pump that water all over their car that leaves water spot, atleast it does on mine and then drive off to have every little bit of read grime just get all over their car again cause the car is drippin water every where!
I dont know!, hell, Im guess im just venting and needed somewhere to let my steam out. I should have just gave them all the bird when they drove by. LOL..........
I do have one legit question though, is it bad to wax a car when the temp is cold...Cause I had to wash my car with DOVE "all I had" So I need to get a coat of wax on it....
Thanks for being here, my fellow camaro people!

I look at people weird when they go thru an auto wash, that's just lazy and not good for the car.
I might look at ya a little weird for a leaf blower, but I guess what ever works.
I'd wash my car in freezin weather if I had too.

I use the leaf blower to get all the water out of the nooks and crannies in the car....where ever water get into and doesnt have a way out except to just sit there and dry up....you know, door jambs, back in the hatch area, all around the headlights, the side mirrors, man theres alot of places that water just sits there.....

Hey wishmaster.....what's up? I live right here in Greensboro....we need to catch up some time!!!
As far as the leafblower is concerned....it's not the air that would concern me as much as little rocks and pebbles...sand....etc etc. It's a great idea....but I would be VERY careful where the car is sitting before I did that!!!!
Cool idea though!

Will this work?
my next door neghbor has a beutiful old gto, its all primerd but he put alot of time in it. anyway hes an old guy (60's) and he was telling me i shoudl do what he used to back in his day to protect my car from the salt water etc.. aparently back in his day before winter he would wash his car really good and put that paste wax on it really thick and not remove it all winter and when summer came hed remove it. hew said it worked great. is this true will it work???
I think waxing in the cold is more of a PITA, wax gets cold and hard really fast so it is more of a pain to wax.
my buddy who has a new truck will not wax it says it is a waist of time.
me I put 6 coats over two days one time (that sucked)

I think the reaction of people is that "I can't believe he is washing his car in this cold weather." Don't concern yourself of what other people are thinking - at least you have peace of mind that there is no salt attacking your body and that your paint will stay shinny longer.

when they drive by just throw your arms up and ask them if they want to take a picture because you know that your car is better looking than there's ever will be or say something about your car looking better than their face or something like that, and then when they go to the car was just pull up and get out of your car and sit there and stare at them and see what they do then! Ya most people are butts about that stuff. I mean people at the car wash looked at me funny last weekend when i went to wash the salt off the RS. I know it needs paint and a bit of body work, but she doesn't have any rust. yes she probably will after 3 years up here, but atleast it won't be as bad. Then again there are the people that go overboard. I got behind a guy in a new neon r/t (2.0 liters of raw hampster power). This kid was there for probably half an hour on a busy day at the wash. Spent something like 10-15 dollars in quarters and used every option like twice. That is overkill. you gonna do that on a busy day at the wash, do it at home and let the rest of us do something.

why throw a coffee mug when you can throw a brick or a hammer or something with some meaning right through their car

Just not cool. I wash all my cars by hand...never been to an automatic car wash?
Is that how you guys do it over there?
It takes 10 minutes to wash a car if you make some effort, it looks better.
Plus when you actually make an event out of it, you chamois it, and it looks a lot better
Much better than driving down the street having the water dry on your car which makes water spots which are really hard to polish out!
I can't believe people would look at you strange for taking care of a 3rd gen...is that really how bad/worthless people think/or are our cars over in the US?
Over here when I wash my car almost always someone will come over and say something like "How do you get so lucky?" (I'm only 20) or "I bet she goes" or something to that effect.
It sounds as if over there you dont even turn a head!

more people should take care of their cars like u guys do...my car is like a son to me and nothing can stop me from washing it every week(at least during the summer). I said that id never drive through a car wash but a few weeks ago when it was less than 15 degrees and i had a free deluxe car wash i decided to give it a shot...it was better than i thought-good enough for the freezing winter but id never do it come spring...we gotta take care of our cars so i can see thirdgens as the highlight in old muscle car shows in the future.

Gib: Ya here the 3rd gens aren't really thought much of, especially in high income urban area's were a car like ours is about a weekly pay check at the most for alot of people. That and some people think its retarded to take care of a car that needs some exterior work, such as mine.
