aftermarket Seats
Hey,
I have been trying to find some nice aftermarket race seats. Well not true race seats but something that looks nice. Not like the gay sh*t in fast and the furious either.
Anyone know of anything nice?
Thanks:hail: :hail: :hail:

while i don't consider the stuff like recaro or sparco gay; what else would you consider?
they do make those same seats in solid colors you know!
maybe you should be more specific..........are you talking about something like jaz seats out of summit or something like viper seats which are a little more comfortable?

Umm...
I want something that looks like a corvette seat or something along that line. The things I don't like about those racing seat like sparco are the huge head rest that surrounds 3/4s of your heat with holes for the 5 point seat belt.
I would like to have 5 point belts but I would like a seat that is comfortable and looks goos, in a solid black.
thanks for you help

well you could always alter a stock seat to hold 5 points.....
i've seen plenty have shops do it with their 4thgens to keep a stock appearance.
there's always the alternative of installing vette seats in the car as well. i've been thinking about it myself. although the 1,200+ price tag for 2 seats is a little dishearening.
i think the 4thgen ta seats are your real best bet though. reasonably priced and give you great support. although there's many options. good luck.

Superman's seats look freakin awesome!
On a different note, I had the priveledge to go to the SEMA show this year and I must say there's a huge difference in the way different seats feel when you sit in them. My favorites were the Cobra seats. The Corbeau and Sparco aren't quite as secure feeling. DAD seats (I think that's the name) weren't very comfortable at all.

You can make your stock brackets work with some of these seats,I modified mine and I feel like I sit lower in it now. The brackets I got with them were to tall for me (I'm 6'4").So this was my best option at the time.worked great. We just made a place for the bolt that I needed.
Look low enough for ya...

Thanks for the complements. As for the seats setting up higher, they are about an inch higher than stock. I don't think this is an issue unless your like 6'4 plus. As scott's85T/A said you can make the stock sliders work, alothough many people have said this he is the only one I have ever seen actually do it.

I got these seat on a group purchase about a year and a half ago. I paid $325 a seat and $45 a peice for the sliders. I think the regular price on these are like $399 and $75 for the sliders.

If you get the sliders that Corbeau sales the seat are a direct bolt in. Uses your factory studs.

Yes my seats are now called CR1's. When I got them they were called Carrera's but they changed the name last year some time.

The seats are very comfortable, even on long trips they don't bother you. You can also get these seats with an inflatable lumbar. I really don't think you need it, but its an option if you want it. The only two issue with these seat are the height they raise you up which is fine I think unless your like 6'4 plus. You could also use the stock sliders like Scott did. The other thing is if you are anykind of a big person like 220 plus get the extra wide option they have. Its like 40 dollars extra but you will need it. I weight 185 and the seats fit me like a glove.
