Billet Wheels....
Okay, I haven't posted any new pics of my car lately so I thought I would mess around with some different wheel designs.
There are three different Centerline Billet wheels that I like. Which do you think looks best.
Sorry the photoshop job looks a little funky..the lighting on the wheel pictures and my car pic is totally different. Im diggin numbers 2 and 3...more 3..
let me know what you think.

I agree they are all pretty bad... but it's also the photoshop job that makes them look goofy. You might want to check out some of the Boyd Coddington designs... they are by far my favourite billet wheels right now.

alrighty then. I was looking for something fresh for the car. The rims I have on there now are peeling in the clear coat and I don't have the time or the will power to strip and polish them.
I'll check out some boyds here in a minute...
thanks guys.

I voted for you being stupid. Wait that came out wrong.
Just kidding man.
I don't care for those rims you shopped on.
But if you like them, then do it. Don't let our opinion over ride yours. If I did everything my friends said, I would have never even owned a Third gen.
I think those rims gives it the old school 1984 look though.

My car has had 14 inch steel rallys to 15" aluminum firebird, to 15" white camaro five stars, to the current 16" formula rims you see now. I still have my 15 inch firebird alluminum wheels. I want some flash now.

here's the camaro wheels....

I did like the 15 in Z wheels on there. They gave the car an interesting look. But it bugged me after a while....they're camaro wheels. So I went back to the standard firebird wheels and they had the stock tire size on it as far as I know. I still have those wheels but they need new tires.
The convex 16 formula wheels I have on there now have bad clear coat on them. They would look MUCH better stripped and polished but I don't have time for that. I need to clean them up.
I wanted the performance of a 16x8 wheel and these rims were only 100 bux so I couldn't pass them up.
I would like some more shine and I like the design of #3. I may look into something new sometime.

I'm not a big fan of billets. I just think they look better on older hot rods, not third gens. Get a nice polished alloy or chrome wheel. If the only choice is the pictured rims, stay with the stock ones, or find a set of 16" Formula rims.
I think Billet wheels are great. Billet vs Chrome will be a neverending debate. Each has its ups and downs. Chrome is nice but sometimes it can be too much. When the sun hits chrome it can blind people ... from the side, front or back people will notice. Polished billet wheels will shine very nice but its less likely to make that blinding effect (only happens from direct sunlight and the right angle). Sort of a 'I'm cool, but not soo cool you cant see me anymore.' The main thing I like about billet wheels, and something that is missing from those photoshop pictures, is the deep dish effect. I like deep dish wheels with a huge lip. I think billet wheels work great with most domestics including muscle cars, trucks, and rods. Polished Billet gives me the feeling of strength and style. The deep dish gives me the feeling of speed. Chrome gives me the feeling of flashness and bling bling. I would save chrome for the super expensive luxury cars or high model SUV's.
But then again this is comming from a guy who owns 3 sets of billet wheels hehe.

Yeah, I noticed your sig after I posted
But the ones I meant were the deep dish turbos without the black paint on them.
If you polish a set of them, I think they would look great. Your stock ones would look good also with the paint stripped and the rim polished. Just me thinking out loud.
