Look what they did to my car ...
Look what they did to my car ...
I parked it on the street during the Christmas night thinking "nobody ain't gonna try to steal my car on Christmas". So when i woke up on Christmas day guess what my present was: my car was moved from it's spot and when i went to check I realized how lame people can be. To make mathers worse 2 of my neighbors came to me (scared that the police might find their fingerprints on the car) tellig me: "Hey man I'm sorry i didn't know it was your car and we helped pushstart the car". I barely held myself from jumping and beating his *** and let the police handle it.
You know what's even worse ? They didn't want to take the car but instead they stripped the interior. They took the stereo (of course how could they forget the stereo) and my brand new headliner ! How the hell can you breake in someone's car and steal the headliner ?! Jeez. Here's some pics:

Sad to hear
I totally agree with flyinlow92rs, the police arent going to go out of their way for a stereo and headliner. I dont see how you didnt woop your neighbor's asses and beat out the names of perps and who has your parts. A very long time ago when I first bought my sc it was broken in too. I was at my girlfriends for only a hour and her neighbor decided to breakin to my car a proceede taking my dash pad
Luckly I saw what was going on a beat some skull in
. I really hope you find out who did that to your car. It makes me so mad that some people restort to stealing stuff they want and not working for it.

wow, sorry to hear that man......this is kinda odd that they took the headliner.....all i know is i will probably go to jail if i ever find someone breaking into my car.....which is not a good thing..
you said your neighbors helped.......
I don't know how well you know them, BUT, BUT if they had enough common sense to come and tell you that they helped push start it and if you found their fingerprints, don't do anything.....
How did they know it was your car?, to come up to you and tell you? And if they knew what you looked like, why then did they help start your car for someone else?
Sometimes you don't have to go very far to find the answers you are looking for....

Sorry to hear man, my mom's car got broken into today, and the worse part, they never took anyting, they tried to take the stereo, but couldn't, so all they ended up doing was just smashing the window, and routing through her dash.
Like bubba said if I ever found someone breaking into my car, I'd end up being the one to go to jail.
And who would steal stuff on christmas, stupid punks

Is that a broken steering column you got there?
I hope you have insurance, they should cover everything free of charge.
Personally I use to have a '91 RS 2 years ago. I usually park it in the underground garage but one day I left it outside on the metered parking.
I came back in the morning to move the car, got in and saw a piece of plastic on the ground. I was like "awww **** I guess the plastic cover to the seat railing broke... crap". then I put my key in, turned it forward and my key like fell out, lol.
I looked and to my surprise the entire steering column was broken. As crooks don't know, our cars with the little security chip cannot be "hot-wired" by cracking the steering column.
They tried to take my stereo off, the detachable part, but I dunno why they didn't manage.... the right side of the detachable face was off, but the other was on. lol, not even my friends could take that thing off, it's very hard.
In any case, I called up insurance and they put in a new steering column and fixed everything free of charge with no deductible, and since it was a "theft recovery" in a way (generally everything having to do with theft goes like this), my insurance did not go up at all.

oh by the way, perhaps the reason they took the headliner was that they were trying to steal the t-tops? alot of crooks duno how those things come off, and might thing there is a screw or something holding them underneath the headliner.

maybe it was a friend of yours or somebody that over heard that you got a new headliner...that headliner part is odd!!
Well they didn't know me cause i just moved about 2 weeks before it happened. And it's a pretty big appartment building so i don't think they had a way to know me. And yeah that's a broken stearing column. Fortunately i managed to replace it (found an identical one at a junk yard for like 30 bucks). They just took everything that could be taken from inside and that happened to be the headliner too. I wonder how come they didn't take the speakers. But hey at least i got a screwdriver that they forgot to take with them when they left
I know the police is not doing anything. That's why i didn't bother to take it there for fingerprints (i had to tow it on my expense). They just filed a report and that was it. As for those neighbors i'll take care of them and maybe they'll be "kind enough" to pay for the damages if they were dumb enough to tell me they helped pushstart the car.

... obviously another thirdgen owner.. why the hell would someone want to go for a headliner.. also, im not understanding the part about your neighbors.. did they confess to doing it or something ?
Yeah they confessed helping push-start the car because they were affraid I was gonna take the car to check it for fingerprints (they oviously have been in trouble with the law if their fingerprints are in the police records). But they said they left after that and claimed that they didn't know it was a stolen car.

My old camaro was broken into last summer. They destroyed the center console taking the $300 CD player out and also took the blackouts. I called the police but it was raining so they couldnt take prints. I was in the process of selling it and the buyer wasnt concerned about it (Going to be a strip only car) and bought it for the same price. Sorry to hear about your loss. If my Pontiacs were broken into...theres going to be trouble.

Get this. My car wasn't broken into the other day because it was in the shop. My car normally resides at my girlfriend's grandparent's house. It's close to my place and they have a driveway. My complex isn't the best and they won't let me keep more than two cars here. Anyway my woman's granparents car got broken into. I am afraid that if my car was there it is likely it would have been broken into as well. Trans-AMs with T-Tops aren't exactly hard to get into.

its things like this that make me want to install one of those flame throwing anti-theft devices, or one of the shocking types... some times you just gotta take the law into your own hands

Umm...
If your neighbors helpedthe people trying to steal the car, isn;t it attpemted grand theft auto?
you should get a take them to court to get money to fix it all up and for yout trouble and ovious emotional destress. Who knows how many years will you have to see a shrink to recover

Haha emotional damage
Of course ! it's not like we're talking about a normal car here it's a :hail: 3rd gen :hail:
For real thoug i got no witnesses to take those neighbors to court. And i don't thing they're dumb enough to testify against them
But anyways i got it fixed (the stearing column which i happened to find in a junk yard for like 30 bucks and most of the cosmetical damage except for the headliner). But anyways it's still a big
that they did what they did.

Umm... you could threaten them with a court case and try to get some money. If you take someone to court for damages and they do not show up I am pretty sure you automaticlly win.

Now what would be real funny, is if their vehicles were broken into and had there columns smashed up and the headliner stolen. And to have their neighbors come up to them and say uh we helped sell the parts to this guy um... thanks for the business. LOL that would be halarious but I doubt that would ever happen. Anyways you should take them to small calims, and how do they not know the identiy of the people who took the headliner? If they helped then they should know. Something sounds fishy there. Cause come on how do you not notice anyone who needs help pushstarting a vehicle in the middle of the night and usually most people ask questions about whats wrong with the car. Or people do here most of the time. Especially if its someone you dont know or have never seen around your area.

Umm.. seems weird that your neighbors would not know it was your car when they are helping some guy push start it but the second teh police show up they know right away it was yours.
