Touch-up paint info needed

According to the RPO decoder here on the site the paint on my car is Ultra Blue Metalic. which would match up to the paint on the car.
I couldnt find any touch-up paint to match it at any of the auto parts stores so I went to the local GM dealer to get some.
Sadly they cant match the color up. according to there computer the car should be ultra BLACK metalic, ultra teal metalic, or white.
The car is a 91, and they went all the way back to 87 and couldnt find the ultra blue, so they recomended I go to CarQuest or some other bodyshop and have them make me a custome tube of touch-up paint.
If I go that route how much aprox. will that cost me? or could any of you tell me of a place on-line that I could get the touch-up paint color that I need?

Here is a pic of my car(I have since fixed the bra so the scratched up bottom of the nose cant be seen, and Ive just purchased the car a week ago so please dont think I would let the nose get that way)

I havent tryed any other colors. Im wanting to get a perfect match to fix some stone chips, and get a can of spray paint to paint the drivers side rear view mirror the right color(previous owner apparently riped it off and got a black one to replace it

What is the "WA" code on the bottom of the RPO sheet. and what is the 3 digit code? Is it U80? is the WA code 9544??? If so GM is lost...it is called Medium Quasar Blue. Tell them the year and the WA code and the fact that it is Not Ultra Blue Metallic. They should have it for you...

Just because a car has the same RPO # fro paint and trim, doesn't mean they are the same. Each years differs. a 91 Z uses U80 code for it's ultra blue, yet the 92 bears the same U80 code, but has the Med Quasar blue..(WA 9544). Same code different colour. They just have them mixed up. Or I do However I do know that a 92 wearing the U80 code is the Med. Quasar, and not the Ultra blue now if the 91 uses the same code.U80. it doesn't however always carry the same WA code. The 91 WA code may be (WA 9549) it is not the same colour...That is for the dealership to tell you. Alot of GM dealerships have Body shops now too, find one of them and see if they can fix you up. HTH

OK so the RPO code is different, but what you really need is the WA code. It is a 4 digit code at the bttome of you RPO sheet and will say"enamel" or "BC/CC" in the same line. That is the real # that differesthe colour of paint.

Look in the phone book for a autobody supply store and give them a call to see if they have a camera to take a picture of the paint so they can match the color. I know that PPG has this technology but I don't know about other paint companies. If they can do this for you all you will have to do is bring a part of the car or just drive the car over so they can take a picture of it. How it works is they put the lens right over the panel and take a couple of pics. The camera then comes up with the closet ppg paint that matches the color. It might come up as not being a GM color but thats ok. This will probably be your safest and closest match. You can never have an exact match. The store will probably only mix a pint or larger for you and you can get it as a basecoat or single stage. It will probably be around $30.00 for a pint.
