Z06's vs Y2K's

Just trying to see what most people think looks better, I chopped Z06's onto 1991 Z-28's car and changed it to a brighter red (then it looks like my car ), so it's the same pic but differant rims, same size's, and I know this has been done before but I don't think in this fashion.

Y2K's

By those pictures I would say the Z06, but the other times I have seen them they just don't look right to me. I like the Y2k's though. Overall, either choice you would come out a winner.

The Z06s would look great, but seeing his car in person, in fact you can see me in that pic, lol, the guy holding the vid camera , the Y2K wheels look great.

Y2K all the way man!
The Z06's just doesn't do anything for me. Infact, if that rim was NOT actually associated with the Z06, but just another aftermarket rim - I don't think it would've been all that popular.... but hey, I might be wrong! (wouldn't be the first time! )

I vote or the ZO6 wheels, I like a wheel that looks like it can hold the weight of the car, the Y2K's look like they are going to brake in half.

Actually Joe was right, the first one is chopped, I made the car a brighter red to match the color of my car
and I agree with Mark, I'd diffenety have to see both the rims on the car in person to really know what looked better

Are you going to swap in a 4th gen rear end, or are you going to use spacers for all 4 wheels?

Yeah I've looked into it alot, but the hard part for me is finding the parts, there are not too many cars around my area that I can get the parts off of, the junkyards have nothing in them at all, and shipping from anywheres else would kill me

The big problem every one has (besides accually getting the parts) is the e-brake calbes. When I did the swap I went from drum to disk brakes, so I had to get disk e-brake calbes, DONT use 4th gen calbes, use the longer 3rd gen cables (there are 2 sizes, use the long ones) .

And get your adaptors from skulte.

Yeah I was talking about the rims, but the color is hardly noticable. I dont know, I like the Z06 rims, but for some reason the Y2K's look better on that car. I'd have to see in person also, I guess.

I like the Z06 rims, i am planning on buying them in chrome 17x9.5 in front and 18x10.5 in rear, currently i have the Y2k like 1991 Z-28, but they aren't on yet, due to no adapters. I vote for Z06.

i think black kind of defeats the purpose on these rims especially since they are so expensive.

personally if i were wanting black i'd just pick up some original used versions in the graphite color! that way you have enough contrast to show the wheel off but it won't be hidden completely.

either way it would look really sharp.

both are beautiful wheels....both are extremely different looks. that's what's so great about choices.

I like the Y2K ones way more.

I agree with Ken, I don't think the Z06 rims look good, not even on Vettes.

the main thing i've noticed is the y2k seem to have a cleaner line and look better in pictures by far.

but, much like a candy paintjob pictures don't do certain things justice and seeing the two in person can change a persons mind.

they are both very sharp wheels. the y2k is more refined with a simple yet stylish look. the z06 is more aggressive, giving a stronger feel yet busy at times.

it's all a matter of opinion.......both are very nice, choices are nice though. that photoshop job is great. what picture was it they were pulled from?

Kandied91Z, the picture was this one, I got off of www.corvettefourms.com
and like you said pics probably are not the best way to pick them, one of the best pics I've seen of the Z06's is the second one I'll attach, looks Amazing:hail:

I vote the Z06's. Thats ^ a sweet pic of 'em too. But they always look good on a Camaro IMO, especially the chrome ones.

that was the aggressive point i was talking about..........i just don't feel the power looking at a y2k wheel.

1991 Z-28, i'm sure you won't mind using your rim as reference!

the y2k wheel is a beautiful wheel....just looks more elegant or something to me rather than the above pic of the z06.

Thats exactly how I feel about the two rims, it's so hard to chose, maybe I'll save up even more and get both sets , then I'd wake up and realize I was dreaming, I just don't know, I'm gonna have to wait until after I paint my car then see what they'd look like then.
