Waxing question

i dunno but it seems that nomatter what wax i use on my car it leaves little scratches in my paint. The paint on my car is 4 months old and im terrified to even touch it with a wax or polish. Right now my car also has a nice coat of rocksalt on the rear bumper and it wont come off with regular washing..its looking dull. is there anything i can do??? i mean i dont really want to spray it down with final finish all the time..especially in winter.

Most likely those are swirl marks, also known as "little scratches". You are using 100 % cotton cloths to wash and dry the car correct? Failure to do this is usually the culprit.

to help with swirk marks wash, dry and wax your car like this.

when standing in front for your car, use vertical strokes on the hood, roof, and rear deck and when standing to the side of your car use vertical strokes. this really helps with swirl marks and ultimate reflection.

Proper materials are the key.

100% cotton, dont use the same towel twice without washing it.

You have rock salt that wont come off with washing?
What sort of washinf are you talking about?

Also, Ill agree with the need for the proper materials . . 100% cotton towels - and the "right" brand is important also -

What do you use to wash with?
What do you dry with?

I have a "users guide" that helps folks get pointed down the "what can i use road" - meant mainly for people who havent had a lot of experience caring for good paint - and yes , it is 6 pages long, and 4 of them relate to Zaino - but the first 2 do not - they deal with ood materials and the choices, as well as some techniqies that will help keep the swirls off . .

If you would like, email me and I'll send it to you - I dont send it out without a request . ..

Cheers - Dennis

something about rock and salt being together, that doesn't sound good for the paint.

Sponge will cover your paint in swirl marks almost as fast as a bath towel dipped in mud. Even soft-seeming synthetic sponge will.

Use 100% made-in-USA cotton to wash.
