Yup. I had a bra on my old 82 camero. Hid the previous owners accident damage well. Black bra on blue car..looked sharp too. Untill i rear ended (more like drove UNDER) a jeep grand eagle
I'd NEVER put a bra on my firebird though..BUT, if you spend the money now, and get the car fixed later, you can allways take it off, and it could come in handy to put on now and then, long highway trips and what not, keep the bugs and rock chips off

a bra can ruin the paint, you need to wax under the bra, and when you wash the car you need to take it off. most people here don't like the bra.
if you are covering up some dents and scratches, and you plan on painting it later, then sure its a quick fix.
for me it all depends on the car, and where you drive, it can protect the car from rock chips, and bugs.

Definately take the bra off if it's going to rain. The paint will get clouded if the bra gets wet and then gets dried by the sun. The only way to repair the paint would be to repaint the damaged area. I put mine on when I go on trips and every now and then just to make the z look different. I usually run with it off though.

I've never really understood the point of them. Aren't they to protect paint from being chipped?...but then what's the point if you can't see it anyways? BUT, if the paint looks like @$$, it's a good, cheap fix.

Here's a picture from an outing to the country. The bra saved the nose of the car, but wouldn't you know it, a rock hit my windsield and chipped it. You just can't win.

Bras are good on girls, but not on cars I live down a 4mile rocky dirt road here in Arkansas and I dont have a single rock chip on my front spoiler. The only chips my SC has recieved were from the Polk Co. Road crew who thought it was a good idea to put tar and gravel down to make a new highway road instead of pulling up the old ****ty sections and repaveing it I wasnt on the damn road for 10 seconds before a 18 wheeler going 20 over the posted 45 showered my car with fresh new pelting gravel and the gravel blasting the rear quarters got from the gravel being kicked up as I was only going 30mph the whole time.

I had a bra on my White Iroc & when I took it off I found a what I thought was a Cracked hood But it was someone had took a key & keyed the very front of the hood & then did a bad patch job.
By the time I took off the Bra the paint was starting to yellowed & the Mold the paint.

On my Husbands Iroc they had a bra on it as well. The hood was Oxidized so bad that when he took it off his Moroon Iroc that what was under the bra had just faded. & Made the car look really bad.

Never again will a put a Bra on my cars.

Bras should only be put on Women................... Not cars.

Had a bra on it when I bought it, then it blew off at about 80 mph. Front bumper is so frugly that I bought a new bra for it.
IMO it goes well with the blue color and dark windows, but will go away when I can get it painted.

ya there are a ton of scratches and a spot where it looks curbed which is very noticable. maybe ill find better ways to get a paint job to it easier such as preping. anyone wanna gimme pointers on preping if i do go about that route. im not gonna jump at a the solution quickly and i know that bras will probably fade the paint. but i just cant stand to look at the ****ed up license plate drilling hole bracket, the scratches and the curb rash. its not noticable in the pictures because of the crappyness of my camera :P

Hey rjmcgee. I also like the way your car looks with the bra on it. Do you have a better picture of your rims? Your paint looks excellent it that picture. A lot of shine on the hood.

Hi cowgirl. If you had mold on your car, someone put that bra on and left it on for a loooonnnggg time. They aren't that hard to remove. They aren't made to be left on the car. They were made to protect the paint from rock chips while cruising. I'll still use mine when taking trips.

steviey_bc. The bra will not make your paint fade unless it gets wet...and then dries without you removing it. If its going to rain, just take it off and you won't have to worry about it.

The only time I put my car bra on is when I make the hour long trip to visit my gf at college. When its warm and the bugs are out, they get ALL OVER my front end, so I put a bra on. Other than that, I would never put a bra on my car.

I like them on some cars. I really hate them on firebirds and trans ams and the newer camaros. If the bra is a good one, (nice and tight) it looks good in my opinion. Ive had a bra on my car all summer for 2 years in a row except when washing and rain of course and never had any problems with paint scratches or chips or fades ect... Its your car, put the bra on if you like it, not if someone else does. Here is a pic of my car with the bra on.

My car wears a bra to hide a little nose scrapage.

I put it on for highway trips too.
The roads in SC aren't all that great and I'm guaranteed to have someone kick peat gravel from their rear tires in my general direction.

I had a bra on mine until I could get it painted cause my paint was peeling of on the hood and was very faded on the bumper (D@^m Van Nuys for their crap paint). I think bra's look sexy on thirdgens.......BUT, they WILL scratch the paint. That's why I'll never put one back on now that I have nice paint.

Rjmcgee takes good care of his car.

As for the Mold on my car Yes I know what it was caused from. I took it off because I wanted to see what Damage was under the bra When I saw the paint scrap I just left it off. The hood has the Normal 87s paint peel & chipping on it.

As for protecting the car from rock chips while cruising I live in washington state & drive roads that are traveled by logging trucks & rock trucks. The car is a daily driver. Still would never put a bra back on it.

The only Bras that need to be on this place is the ones in my drawers.

IMO cars look better without bra's and so do some women. Unless you have something bad to hide, dont cover it up.

Well some Women need Bras because their Jugs would be down past their knees if they didnt wear them. or when they walked they would get black eyes.

Car bras seem to dehance the appearence of a car. I would rather take my chances nicking or scrapping the front end of my car than to put a bra on.

If the front end just looks too horrible to look at, then a bra would work. I am kind of doing the same thing by having seat covers. I don't like them, but they look better than my seats do until I can save up for some Sparcos or some old Recaros.

I think mud flaps look ugly too, especially with ground effects. I thought I would throw that in too. Like the car bra, I will take my chances chipping the paint than putting those on. I think it is small sacrifice appearence wise.

I have just the hood portion on my car. The little round raised parts work pretty well as a bug deflector, and I would never put one of those on my car. :nono:

I bumped someone that stopped in the middle of the road.

My front end is badly chipped. What about a bra on a black car?

I know it will look like a cover, but it would look a whole lot better than if I left it alone...
